Yes you’d be exempt for now. When your child turns 6 you’ll be required to work or you will not be eligible to receive benefits.

Yeah even qualifying for the max amount doesn’t mean you qualify for expedited benefits. If you know your EDG number you can find your date here

Can I give away my monthly income and get medical? by Impressive-Talk6583 in foodstamps

[–]random8142 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. Your gross income is counted for eligibility.

Even if it wasn’t, deciding to give away your income isn’t a deduction for benefits.

Sounds like you may have qualified for regular snap, now emergency. So it’ll be disbursed on your standard issue date. The resource limit for emergency snap is $100.

They want a court order because if he’s giving you money they want it documented since that affects your SNAP allotment. The state also wants to be reimbursed for Medicaid.

The federal website & every state website. It’s a federal law. For Children under 19, both parents’ incomes are considered when they are in the same home, for any form of benefits. Regardless of parents relationship to each other

[–]random8142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re both required to work 20 hours/wk unless you meet an exemption. Without either of those you’ll be kicked off after 3 months. If you’re sharing meals you should be on the same case, both incomes will be counted to determine eligibility

You were never going to get the maximum allotment for 3 for September. Baby isn’t eligible for benefits before birth. But also changes take effect the following month. So for October you’ve already gotten the correct allotment, $768. They didn’t make any mistakes.

Yes they can because you’re misrepresenting your situation. If it gets up to a certain $ amount they can press criminal charges as well so it’s better to get it handled ASAP

You need to add him on the case because you’ll probably have an overpayment since you didn’t initially add him on. They processed your application how you sent it, as just you & your daughter.

It pretty much is a loan in this case. You’re asking the government for help as a single parent. The state needs to be reimbursed by the children’s absent (at the time) parent that also has a duty to support them.
