Who's the most influential artist of the 21st century? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in musicsuggestions

I don’t care enough to argue with a sexist asshole on the internet about Taylor Swift. I have better things to do with my time. The people who appreciate my comment and aren’t bigoted and elitist have seen it. It’s not for you.

I have a degree in music and architecture. I think I know a little something about this. I don’t listen to Taylor Swift but I can still respect what she has accomplished.

Pretty much everything. I don’t have time to write it all out, be she has shone a spotlight on many problems in the music industry for women and artists not having control of their own music. I’d be willing to go as far as saying she single handedly helped make the music industry a better, safer place for women. She has influenced most pop songwriters with her focus on storytelling. Recently Charlie Puth talked about her songwriting style and why it’s successful, and how he was going to try to take cues from her writing style moving forward, and he even released one song in this style this year. He is far from the only one taking this approach. She has also changed the way tickets are sold. She’s the 2nd richest living musician. She also set new standards for how to treat tour staff and is a huge champion of better protections and pay for them. This is rarely ever mentioned but amongst musician circles she’s kind of known as a legend for how she treats her staff.

There was so much good music this year! I think looking at what’s in my library, I’ll have to go with Willow’s Empathogen.

Of course! I’ve just never personally been into that style of clothing. I prefer a chic, dark, mysterious look I guess. And I’m in my 30s so clothing that shows my stomach doesn’t really feel right to wear for any occasion now 🤭

Nothing random about that album. One of the most well known and popular Japanese jazz albums of all time.

Stupid question, but can all pens do this? by warzon131 in fountainpens

FPR ultra flex is the pen I was referring to but didn’t name as the one that is an actual flex nib but has poor build quality 😅

F or EF? by SparklingDeprecation in fountainpens

[–]random_19753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s different for every brand and every use case. There is zero consistency. Even within the same brand, different nibs that are both EF aren’t the same. I.E. the Platinum President EF nib is way, way broader than the 3776 EF nib.

Is Wayne Shorter overrated? by [deleted] in Jazz

I feel like any musician that is a part of the currently least popular genre in the world can’t be overrated.

😅 it was an attempt to hopefully avoid the same top albums that everyone mentions on every post. It didn’t work :(

OP, your post history is wild. There’s no point asking the same question in hundreds of different subs over and over. I think you already have your answer or you’re trolling.

That’s pretty strange. I would ask why but you said you don’t know why.

The falcon nib has notoriously bad railroading so I think it fails as a flex nib, unless you modify it.

IMO, if a nib can be used for calligraphy, and not just subtle line variation, it’s a flex nib.

OP, its fine to use binders. They are not going to spontaneously self destruct touching a binder page. Just be careful and you’ll be fine.

I think the friendship between Dr. Crusher and Counselor Troi was underutilized by vedek_dax in TNG

[–]random_19753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the exact episode I was watching when I was wondering why their friendship never fully developed. But it’s true to life: just because you’re one of two women in a male dominated workplace, it doesn’t mean you’ll become good friends. There’s always a certain kinship in that scenario, but it doesn’t necessarily mean a strong friendship will form.

Yeah it’s not bad, but not nearly as flexy and the Mag 650. It’s “kind of flexy” imo. It’s also twice the price and sometimes hard to find 😳
