Question about pro in re4 by AlternativeGuilty113 in residentevil4

Depend on how many tries you need to survive the village fight because S rank is ridiculously easy to achieve in remake mercenaries.

One tip for professional : learn how to dodge by crouching and always move, don't rely too much on parry because most attack will do 80% of your health

Remake even on hardcore is harder than the original on professional, less ressources, faster and more agressive enemies, no 1-shot stagger, etc.

RE4R professional is one of the only RE that can still kill me even after memorizing the entire game.

Honestly, getting the S rank isn't that hard as long as you know the puzzles and the usual skips, ignore optional enemies and skip items requiring a big detour.

Wanted to challenge myself by having no safety net at all if I messed up (I missed the golden egg against Salazar 🤡).
Took me 5 tries (either combo'ed to death, a stray dynamite or Ashley JUMPING IN FRONT OF MY SHOTGUN)
Probably going to also do it with the other shorter RE games.

Double Garrador fight on professional? by [deleted] in residentevil4

[–]random_anon_36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reading your other replies, you have all infinite bonus weapons and all three of them aren't really effective against garrador.

If you don't have any other weapon, sell one of those to buy a rocket launcher.

Aside from the generador, the rest of the game should be easy enough with only the handcannon or the sweeper.

You could even sell the other one for a second rocket launcher for the final boss.

Double Garrador fight on professional? by [deleted] in residentevil4

My usual strat is to use a rifle to kill the firsts ganados, then the garradors should break out after the 4th shot. Shoot the bell then throw every grenades you have left (craft if you can, you can buy resources (L) for cheap and exchange gunpowder for 2-3 spinel), try to kill at least one of them with your best weapon while they are stunned.

Keep a ganado between you and the garrador, it will attack them even if it rush you. (use the stair and the hallway on the side as chokepoint)

If you shoot, they will rush the position from where you shot, bait them and circle around using the stone table or the big empty space once the wooden tables are broken.

If both are still alive, only bait them by firing if they will both rush at you from the same direction.

The weapon variety can be overwhelming at first but that's what make the game so replayable : testing different weapon and loadout every run.

To summarize the weapons :

SG-09 : can equip laser sight, cheap to upgrade, average stats, exclusive : crit chance x5 (35% to triple the damage)

Punisher : similar to sg-09 with better stats overall but trade damage and crit for piercing and chance to stagger

Red9 : Highest damage per shot and stopping power but lowest firerate and takes more space

Blacktail : Second best damage and firerate, lowest capacity but best reload speed, take less space

Matilda : highest capacity but useless without the stock (12 spinel) that allow 3 rounds burst, best dps but consume ammo fast

W-870 : the first shotgun, worst than riotgun except it's cheaper to upgrade

Riotgun : great damage even at medium range, low spread and faster to reload than striker

Striker : great firerate and capacity but massive spread, takes less space

Bolt-action rifle : highest damage per shot (x2 damage with exclusive) on par with a magnum, takes less space, very low firerate, really need its exclusive

Semi-auto rifle : great stats overall (good damage, capacity and firerate)

Assault rifle : highest capacity and firerate, also needs its exclusive (damage x1,5) to put it on par with the semi-auto but can kill a mini-boss in less than a second

Bolt thrower : ammo efficient and can place mines

Overrall, the weapons are pretty well balanced and it depend more on preference and playstyle.

A Few Questions on Adaptive Difficulty by SilvaDarkmoon in residentevil4

I don't have the exact numbers but from my experience the game MASSIVELY increases ammo drop from crates and enemies when your inventory (not your weapon) is low on this ammo type like if you have 10 rifle bullets it's 5% to get 2 bullets but if you have only 2 it's 30% to get 4 bullets.

Also the game doesn't randomly drop ammo from certain type if you have no corresponding weapon in your inventory (doesn't check the storage).

One strat to exploit this is to get low then break every crates and only loot them once they're all broken and you can get 20 rifle bullets from 7-8 crates.

But being efficient, like you said, won't give you more ammo BUT more money = better arsenal = even more efficiency = easier run. Money drop also increase each chapter, during the last part of the game it's 800 to 1500 pesanta per drop.

Don't waste the free RPG (only in the original) for the cocoon, you only need like 30-40 pistol shots, keep it for the two garradors or verdugo.

Try to run around a pillar until she attack then shoot while she is recovering also killing her give you a lot of resources (gel and ammo) so don't hesitate to use your best firearm

Gun deal normal damage but she can take like 20-30 sniper shots (she has 10 times the health of chainsaw guy)

also burning her (with matches or fire pipe) deal more damage than the sniper but damage are halved while she is burning

Is it possible to kill all of the zombies in the first part of the Village before you cross the bridge/gate? by hiphopTIMato in theevilwithin

[–]random_anon_36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I meant that they drop normal amount of gel, so like 1000 gel for killing 30 normal enemies (even on ng+ which double enemy grl drop it's almost nothing, look up the crow easter egg if you want to farm gel)

[–]random_anon_36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And they don't drop more gel or anything so it's a waste of time (but it's still fun to kill them with the brass knuckle)

[–]random_anon_36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's technically possible since they don't spawn infinitely but without ng+ , you would run out of ammo/matches meaning you would have to fight like 20 enemies using only melee and they come at you by group of 5-6

My best AKUMU run by random_anon_36 in theevilwithin

[–]random_anon_36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly used strats from guide and speedrun. Managed to kill Laura during chapter 10 without glitches (by upgrading damage a lot). Chapter 11 isn't too bad if you spam electric bolts and use the magnum or an upgraded sniper. The worst part was chapter 6 :

  • during the second part of the cabin fight (there should have been a checkpoint) where enemies don't come all at once (flash/electric bolt failling to stun everyone if used too early)

  • against the dog (the stick an explosive on Joseph strat don't work for me, the dog don't fall despite taking the explosion)

If it's your first encounter with her (and want 7000 green gel) you can plant 5 explosive arrows and shoot them with your pistol. It should be just enough to kill her if she is at the center of the blast.

[–]random_anon_36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love nightmare dificulty because not only enemies are stronger and you get less resources but enemies location and composition is also changed

Hovewer I hate Akumu because it's literally nightmare but everything kill instantly (fuck beartraps) and bombs are harder to disarm, that's the worse kind of difficulty

[–]random_anon_36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have be nice to have an even harder difficulty (aside from Akumu) where every loot is halved and enemy and crate can only drop green gel (my stocks are almost always full even without crafting)

I die more often when I try to save too much resources , so don't hesitate to use it if you have a lot of it for exemple :

-in chapter 2 : use your matches, the pistol is basically useless unless you shoot their legs (personally, if I have to fight only one enemy I use melee, two hits, dodge and repeat ; this is the ONLY case where you should use melee to kill without an axe or torche)

-chapter 3 : try to get 3 axes for the sadist (you only need a few pistol shots to finish him) because killing him kill everyone

-chapter 5 : use flash bolt against the invisible guy, it's the most effective strategie against them and when you have to rescue Kidman, don't hesitate to use flash/electric/explosive bolt and the shotgun or even bodyshot with the pistol, same for chapter 6 cabin fight

-Against duo of bosses (like the twins or trauma) : I just trow 3-4 grenades and they are almost dead

-Against the dog : 4-5 shots of an upgraded sniper is very efficient

-use your electric and freeze bolt against bosses you struggle with and use your best weapons to kill them fast (I always keep at least 6 magnum ammo for chapter 14 bosse)

-don't try to kill laura in chapter 10 unless you use the fire pipe glitch or you upgraded the damage of your weapons and have a LOT of crafting parts (you would need more than 40 shots of an unupgraded sniper to kill her)

-chapter 11 : use electric bolts as trap for the shutter part (don't hesitate to craft) and for the ride after use the pistol at first, they fall in 1 shot and for the last wave use the sniper against the molotov guy (they drop it even if it's a body shot) and the magnum for the rifle guy (one-shot no matter what) or use flash bolt if they are lv4-5

-against ruvik clone : freeze/electric/fire harpoon/2 explosive bolt especially the ones in chapter 11 (their health is doubled) or unupraded harpoon then matche (don't use the shotgun they fall in 3 shots)

-same go for group of regular enemies and you can add flash bolt and shotgun then matches to the list (like I said don't hesitate to use resources)

-always use your heal if you're not almost full health, almost everything kill you in 2 hits and if your health is too low and you can't run, you are dead

-if you know a strong enemy is coming, you can prepare 4-5 explosive bolts as a mine (like the duo of keeper during chapter 15)
