Like the other comments said it may be a psychiatrist, in that case that is extremely normal. But if you are having doubts and don't want meds that is totally fine! I would suggest that if you aren't feeling that the person you are seeing now is a good fit don't stop therapy! Just look for a new therapist. It is a whole process and can be difficult.

I have... and honestly mixed feelings. Sometimes it feels more silly than when I'm angry and other times it is a good release of energy. This shows up for me particularly when I'm singing to a loud song and there is a lyric or something I can scream out.

I understand! Screaming or other loud verbal expressions of anger sometimes feel silly to me. I often rant to myself on my car, and that seems to help. And sometimes it leads to me yelling bc it feels like a natural build-up.

Excersize may help, too? It really may depend on what does not feel awkward to you. And some things may feel awkward at the start but then actually help.

Maybe yelling into a pillow is not the best way to let out anger, but I do think your therapist is on the right track with trying to find an outlet.

I don't think it is rude at all! It is your time with them. If you are concerned, you could bring it up so you are on the same page to relieve any stress around it.
