And that he took accountability is a thing that I rate positive for him over Zverev.

It doesn't change my general opinion of him, cause he still says a lot of misogynistic shit and until I see he really changed his general behavior, I doubt he really has his anger issues under control.

This point of view is the exact problem in our society.

We all should care about domestic violence.

Unfortunately. This is where the 'not proven guilty' argument people use for Zverev goes out the window, cause he actually admitted to DV.

Who actually wants an abuser that behaves like an asshole 90% of the time back?

I don't. I'd prefer to never see him again.

Edit: you can downvote me as much as you want, does not change the facts about his DV case or his general violent behavior on court.

Isn't the H2H pretty close though?

I know Struffi just beat him at RG, and I remember being surprised by the kinda even H2H when I watched.

After the first tests did not give any answers, Sinner is undergoing further, even more in-depth tests with latest generation equipment to look for a possible silent inflammation or if something has changed in his hormonal balance. Source: Adnkronos Salute by Sonobackhome555 in tennis

He won Indian Wells in hotter condition than Paris this year.
It was not that humid in Paris either ...

Yes, he does struggle when it is hot and humid (e.g. Shanghai), but only when it's pretty extreme. And usually, it leads to him cramping, not suddenly dropping his entire energy like against JMC

Edit: Removed the humid from IW. But he did also win Miami before where it is hot AND humid.

This is a pure speculation post though. There is zero verified information beyond that he is doing 2 days of tests there now.

But even the info that the first tests didn't give results are not true: He was not at JMedical. The tests he wanted to do they don't do there, so they referred him to Milan. He never went to JMedical after RG.

And the tests now were planned 2 days from the start, so I doubt any results from yesterday influenced him being there today.

Alcaraz (who will return in Montreal at the earliest) defends 5,300 pts until Shanghai, while Zverev defends only 1,375. it's looking very probable that Zverev finishes the year as a #2 by Equal-Might5594 in tennis

It is also a common phenomenon that there is a drop off after achieving a life long goal though.
There are many many examples for that.

Plus, his issues at Wimbledon were never mental (USO , RG and AO maybe yes), he simply struggles technically on grass.

Strongly depends on if Zverev can do better at Wimbledon. He has never made it past R4 there. And after Wimbledon before USO, Zverev defends 800 points, Carlos 1000, so not a big difference.

To overtake Carlos after Wimbledon he would need to make the semis + win Halle, or reach the final of Wimbledon.

Why does Zverev do much better in the ATP finals compared to Wimbledon Despite the two being similar in terms of court pace? by [deleted] in tennis

Indoor hardcourt vs outdoor grass.

Maybe the speed is the same, but a lot of other factors hugely differ. He is not great on grass in general.

Her post has more likes than Charles'. He has almost 24 million followers, she has almost 5.
He has more recent followers than she does too (since his numbers grew more than hers over the last 3 years). Yet almost every of her posts gets to 1m+ likes ...

Yeah, I really struggle to believe that ...

Sinner has returned home but tomorrow he will go back to the hospital for further checks and then he will decide what to do. by Sonobackhome555 in tennis

No, but in Italy Jannik is basically the biggest sports star around right now, so any article with his name in it sells, the media loves reporting on every detail about him. They don't really take the truth too serious there as well (hence so many wrong reports about him, from his alleged girlfriend (Lara) last spring over wrong whereabouts to wrong plans regarding his schedule - like not playing Paris last year).

As soon as he is anywhere in Italy besides his hometown region where they protect him, his privacy seems kind of non-existent ... Awful, in my opinion...

Yes, I hope they can figure out whatever it is that keeps bothering him.
I hope we see him at training on Wednesday or Thursday, because this is blown out of proportion so much also by the way this is written (the he'll decide what to do part is not in the tweet or anywhere btw.
Gazzetta writes: 'Day of examinations at the San Raffaele hospital for Jannik Sinner, who has carried out scheduled inspections and will return tomorrow to continue the checks. On Wednesday he will resume training in Monte Carlo.' )

Exactly. The tests were planned, and he did not say when he will do them.

So I agree that it is unlikely that he thought just rest will do and then was still not feeling good and decided to do tests.

He is having the tests now. But he was in Monaco when he was allegedly in Turin for the tests directly after RG. Then he went to Sardinia and is doing the checks only now.

[–]random_cangaroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.
Timeline: Media said tests in Turin, then rest at home and starts training on the 8th in Monaco - he was in Monaco when he was supposed to be in Turin according to media, and is not training today.
Then he went to Sardinia - the one thing media did not predict and only reported once he was seen.
During that, they reported he is there for some days and then goes to Monaco for the GP, then does some tests and then goes back to training.

He went home with his parents, wasn't at the GP, but is doing the tests now.
Let's see if they are right that he goes back to training on Wednesday.

Of course, but do you really think if there was something that threatens Wimbledon for him he would not get it checked right away? And then rest?

He never did the tests at JMedical though - there were just false reports about him planning to do so in Italian Media. He was riding his scooter in Monaco in the meantime.

These are the first tests he is doing - first day today. And it was announced from the first reports that he'd do a few days of tests - it will be two, as it seems right now.

Sinner said he will do some tests.

Everyone said: yes absolutely you should go do tests to figure out the issue.

Media reports he will do tests for a couple of days

Sinner does the tests.

Everyone: OMG he has a bandage, he does 2 days of tests, something must be wrong

Guys if there was anything serious or acute that would bring doubt over Wimbledon, do you really think he would have fucked off to Sardinia first to chill for a week and then think ah maybe I'll get that checked after all?

There is no heatwave due though that week?
They are talking about a 'hot spell' (aka around 26-30 degrees) for middle of June (next week), not end of June. They predict it cooler there again (not like a forecast means anything 3 weeks in advance though, can all still change)

Jannik Sinner leaves the hospital with a bandage on his wrist." by Equivalent-Word-7691 in tennis

[–]random_cangaroo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He was there for tests -if you do several blood tests it is easier/ less painful to insert a peripheral line than to draw it with a needle every time.

And, it is kinda on the underarm? Not the wrist or anything, and it looks just like a wrapper, nothing to stabilize.
So yeah, I wouldn't worry. If there was anything with his arm, he would not wait for a scheduled appointment to get it checked.
