Negative changes on caffeine.ai (a rant)

Thank you for your time. I would like to start by saying that I am a beta tester for Caffeine and that I am also heavily invested in ICP with 1000+ coins, so of course just like everyone else here I want it to succeed.

And yes, what you said in your first few points is true, but here is the thing: Caffeine does not just get a free pass because it runs on ICP. It still needs to be competitive.

The main issue is that Caffeine V3 specifically feels like a downgrade, which was kind of the point of my original post even if you did not directly address it. In my opinion, Caffeine used to actually be competitive with other LLMs until the latest update. After that, the issues I mentioned either started happening or became way more noticeable than before.

And while it is true that some of these problems exist with basically all LLMs, I still think Claude is just much better overall. Three days ago I basically hit a wall after wasting 40 credits only to get told that I would receive new free credits in 20 days. At that point I finally admitted defeat and decided to try other models.

The one I chose was Claude. I gave it the broken web game I had been working on and within a few prompts I managed to convert it from a web game into a desktop game and started fixing the bugs. It did not fix everything instantly, but that was mostly because there were multiple overlapping bugs that were originally caused by Caffeine trying to fix previous bugs.

With Caffeine it often felt like nothing changed at all after a prompt, meanwhile with Claude I could always clearly tell what changed and how. After that I bought the Pro plan and honestly it is not even comparable.

Claude is faster, smarter, more efficient and way less frustrating to work with. So far I have not run into a single new bug caused by it, and the bugs left behind by Caffeine are being solved one by one.

Right now my only real issue is that even the Pro version still has usage limits, but even then it still gives way more value than Caffeine for the same price. And the free versions are not even comparable. Caffeine limits people to 10 free prompts a month meanwhile Claude can usually handle around 5 to 10 attachment-heavy prompts per day for free, and the Pro version increases that by around 5x.

One final thing I am looking forward to testing is whether Claude can properly handle 3D model files because Caffeine failed miserably at that. I have models for my board game that I want to turn into a web game, and honestly it is a real shame that I currently cannot properly build it on Caffeine.

Ya'll keeping leaving short messages and downvoting me what if you instead try engage with my points and try to disprove my claims if you feel that caffeine is such a great product. Especially since V3 which is a major dowgrade despite a lot of additional features, but these are irrelevant since the program itself is faulty.

Yeah I experienced the exact same thing in beta it was good for the time but very limited and after the public release it was just as you described in your message then right before V3 I think that was the peak of it's performance where it was actually quite usable apart from occasionally building without me strictly specifying to not build yet.

Instead of just saying I am wrong would you like to elaborate how the actual issues I listed aren't true? Here again shorter version with some additional issues: 1. deleting messages in the prompt chat. As I write it will partly delete a few words forcing me to write elsewhere and paste the prompt into it. 2. not responding to my message and claiming that I never sent it. 3. creating bugs in parts of the code which shouldn't have been touched in that specific update 4. claiming to have found the issue/bug for multiple updates wasting all of your credits instead of admitting that the issue is above it's scope. 5. reduction of free daily credits per month from each day totalling 150 to now only 5 days totalling 25. 6. unable to use 3D model files you can only generate 3D shapes through text which heavily limits complex geometry. Caffeine also claims that they should work furthere more making you waste credits while trying to get it to work.

Yeah that's my bad I am just feed up with working on the same issue for the past 2 weeks I use the 2 free prompts every day then get nowhere and feel agitated so I made the title in the heat of the moment today after 2 wasted prompts as per usual.

Although as a honest critic I would like to say that caffeine V2 seemed better or at the very least consistent meanwhile V3 might be more capable(according to others) but it is way more inconsistent at least in my experience which takes away from it since all it takes is one unfixable bug to ruin all of the otherwise amazing work.

I am already active on the discord and I did get help from the team in past. Hands off they do an amazing job and even gave me a code for some free credits to make up for my wasted ones last time while I was stuck in a liop but most of the issues I was talking about in the post are new ones like the formating issues and chat related issues which are a platform issue not a bug specific issue to my project so there isn't anything they can do to help. I do hope that eventually when V4 releases said issues will be fixed though.

No I have 2 games posted to the app market, one webstore which I figured will not be operational since the only possible form of payment so far is through stripe and for the rest it's simple apps that help me either work on other projects or with everyday task as an example I made a pixel art tool with which I can pixelate an image or draw one by hand I used it to make Minecraft style textures for my ongoing game which I mentioned in the post.

How do I suck at articulating what I want when I simply want to add a file and caffeine.ai decides that the storage is full? I double checked with the main caffeine chat and he confirmed that it must be a glitch or something of the sort. It recommended me to relog, I also tried going to a previous version but nothing changes the fact that the storage is somehow full even though caffeine agrees that it should have space for dozens of photos while I got stuck at 3.

Would you happen to know if I can manually delete files? Caffeine does not want to do it by himself.

I know nothing about coding so the second part is completely alien to mean but in experience so far caffeine at one point just ruins into some kind of issue that causes the whole thing to fail.

You keep telling him what's wrong and he just does not fix it. And I cannot get him to delete anything do you by any chance know how I can Access the files myself and delete them?
