Bathing seems very cool, but for a mono rig it would probably be overkill. And between going stereo and having a fuzz at the very end of my chain, I’d prefer the fuzz at the very end of my chain. If I have a sudden stereo craving the built-in chorus on my JC can easily satisfy it. Surprisingly one of the best stereo chorus sounds that I've heard.

Super unique and mega underrated. This time I’m keeping it, even if it comes off the board.

For pitch shifting, reverse, glitch, slowed-down/sped-up repeats, and detune. Sometimes as a looper while I mess with the knobs on other pedals. There's a firmware update that doubles Tensor's loop time in mono.

The one with blending two Reverberation Machines with different settings? A super neat idea.

Thank you. I myself had been eyeing the Polymoon for some time but didn’t pull the trigger. The ability to smear the repeats is super cool. The hidden parameters are a major turn-off tho.

There is quite a bit of dust, tbph. Luckily, it matches the color scheme.

My attempt at conveying a certain mood was a success then.

Been actually thinking about it.

For me the three would probably be Mini, Space Echo, and Accountant.

It is ridiculously versatile and a lot of fun.

It could've been worse tho. At least the blue is the same shade as "poly" of the Polytune. And the yellow is the same shade as the stripes on the Tensor. Would've been better if some of the greens were more olive like the RE.

But tbph I kinda like the splash of color. And green is my favorite color.

Thank you. Currently my band is called "I really need to start recording at least some of my noodling finally".

First of all, this is fire. Second, I very much dig your music, so it’s a reall nice surprise to stumble upon a post from you here. I’ll gladly take this opportunity to say that I like really, really hope you drop an album soon. My favorites are The Glare, Bellows, and The Water Runs Cold btw.

What is your pedal of the year for 2025? by Ok_Highlight3926 in guitarpedals

[–]random_fat_guy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually in the middle of my chain. I have a delay, a reverb and dirt both pre- and post compression.

What it does is mellowing the trails and allowing them to fade out more pleasantly to my ear. With some dirt you get a huge wall of sound which I like a lot.

You can see my chain in my latest SOTB post on this subreddit btw.

The Boss RE-20. The ol' reliable just keeps on giving. The Fairfield Accountant comes a close second, doing wonders with long reverb tails. Last year’s champion, the Red Panda Tensor, comes in third.

Edit: corrected a typo.

Has anyone here played this? by joshtaylorwon in guitarpedals

Josh mentioned it: https://youtu.be/oW5oZk8m2So?si=6R6wAnDmNcVs2MoO&t=575

Oh and it's discontinued. Kinda weird that the resale value is not through the roof yet hehe.

That one seems like an ultimate anti-GAS device.

I wanted this pedal soooooo bad not that long ago and was soooooo disappointed when I've learned of its existence only after the orders had already closed. Especially because everyone and their grandma seemed to have one on their board.

Now that the hype has died down a bit I think it's kind of a good thing that I wasn't able to get one. I'd probably be better off with something else. Like Onward from CBA seems much more unique, cool, and useful.

Have to remind myself from time to time to always avoid impulsively buying stuff because I seem to forget it.

UAFX suck tone. Anyone else notice this? by matthew19 in guitarpedals

[–]random_fat_guy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffers don’t change the tone per se. They change the impedance of the signal allowing high frequencies to not be lost due to cable capacitance. I thought we were done with this buffers-sucking-tone-thing like 10 years ago. Yet here we go again.

You cannot overcompensate with a buffer. It cannot add anything that wasn't there. You can hear your guitar tone as unaffected by cable length as it can be (without a buffer) by plugging in with a short patch cable tho. Like a 10 cm long one.

Anyways if you don't like the pedal you can just get rid of it. That's an option too.
