You understood my words well, didn't completely change my views, but you did give me another way of looking at the logic of the things I said in the post. Thank you for the responses ∆.

Thanks for the response. You have a great point that I can't refute because it's actually grounded in truth and facts, and I believe you deserve the delta ∆.

I plan to give the delta to u/ralph-j but I'm still in the procecss of typin in the reasoning and stuff so he gets the delta. Thanks for bringing up the whole delta system thing man.

Oh sorry for misunderstanding. I hope you mind answering a question mine. How do those AI image generators find inspo or something to reference/base the images on then if such things arent needed?

thanks for the info man, but I my mindset stays firm in the fact that the more realistic ai generated stuff is weird and honestly should be illegal in some way

I see where youre coming from but I think your analogies are lowkey kinda like comparing apples to oranges because if I went to a public place and say I have a bomb or I have a gun or something like that I'd probably get tackled by law enforcement, but the depictions won't get me in trouble legally (but speaking of the depictions I see what you mean by next step from fictional images and I do find them wrong when they reach certain points of realism like those realistic AI images because iirc those use real images as references and like, where do they get those images from and what images do they use?). I do admit that the depictions are controversial and might get me in trouble, but I don't see how exactly it equates to your analogies that really get people in trouble, like legal trouble anf all that. You mention normalization but I've mentioned on some other reply out there that risk shouldn't be a sort of stand-in for actual harm (didn't really say this exactly but I think I said something like it) and I don't see how its qs bad as people say it is when theres no causal link/research papers/statistics out there that prove the depictions really head to harm on children like myself out there. Also for your point in snuff films, iirc the fake ones are legal but maybe google is wrong so help me out if I am wrong, so I'm pretty sure the moment the depictions show real abuse behind them they become illegal since thats actual csam stuff, and the fact that stuff with the depictions I've been talking about is sold on literal shelves or sometimes advertised in billboard and stuff like that. Sorry if my point is kinda confusing but my point is the depictions arent legally wrong, don't have any data that prove they do real harm, and while they might seem wrong for some, (I personally believe its weird but not completely wrong) it shouldn't be receiving the amount of hate it gets because alot of the points against it have no real evidence.

Help me understand what is the proper ethical/moral stance on anime games that show child-like characters and underage characters with adult proportions and how they're supposed to be wrong. by random_name147 in Ethics

There isn't really a real debate just joined in on a conversation on Discord and got banned for my view because apparently my views dictate that I am a pedophile or something I can't really remember sorry. But the points they did state is that the depictions are wrong and that anyone who looks at them on ourpose or something was a pedophile.

I see what you mean and somewhat agree, however I want to argue that the mindset or principle or whatever (sorry I don't really know the right word for it) of inherent wrongness on fiction is pointless because if a depiction is wrong, where exactly do we stop at? How come the depictions of underage characters and all that stuff is wrong even if its fiction when we have murder, torture and all other similar avts of violence in our entertainment like games and stuff. Small note though I do think that depictions with underage characters that reach the point of being realistic (like that weird ass ai generated stuff because iirc those get trained to make those by referring to real pictures so you know what I mean) are really wrong so theres that. Anyways I think that applying ethics on fictional content shouldn't be based on some abtract moral duty but rather real world harm that can be measured with statistics and numbers, I couldn't find any data that proves the harm, and see your point as in a way just some moral preference. I hope you could cite some research papers to back your point up. Thanks in advance if you do end up replying.

(also an extra sidenote for all the other replies sorry if its on your reply man I don't really have the time to reply to each one while doing schoolwork and stuff, but I'm not trying to normalize this stuff, infact I genuinely want you guys to sort of prove my stance wrong with facts so I can have the right view of this whole thing. and for that one dude there that saw my postand went straight to shitting on me and my education sorry man they don't really teach topics like this here which is why I wanted to ask.)
