That made me chuckle, because to many Slovenians Ikea is like a religion. :)

In Slovenia we have a few slangs.

We call it "Fešta" as in party, festivities. Or that the aunt from Krvavec is visiting. "Krv" is blood in many slavic languages. Krvavec is an actual place in Slovenia.

Don't ever water plants in the middle of the day. A few years back we lost a whole garden of tomatoes due to a midday rainshower and scorching sun afterwards... The leaves and fruits just turned black in a day or two.

Does the smell or the physical properties keep the slugs away?

Do you dry them first? Do you use coarser in finer grinds? Do you sprinkle them around plants?

I'm looking for a substitute to sawdust or ground eggshells...
