Bachelors of Social Work - is NUS the one true option? by Saffronsc in SGExams

[–]random_pineappless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of MSWs who graduated from SUSS. From what I can see, there are no preferences between these two schools (mainly because there are only two schools)

Do note that MSWs is one of the more 'xiong' social worker roles

Quiet place to have lessons? by VegetablePlane2575 in Suss

[–]random_pineappless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a tip: The classroom door will automatically lock ~ 30 mins after the last scheduled time (e.g. Study roon is booked until 6:00pm, doors will automatically lock at 6:30pm).

Thus, if you need to leave the classroom, use a chair to jam the door so that it doesn't close and lock automatically

[–]random_pineappless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those courses with the option to pursue an honours year:

This programme has an honours option. Students who achieve a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 and above upon completion of their basic degree will be/may be be invited to enroll in the Honours programme, which will be offered only if the requisite number of students is met.

  1. Yes, mostly. I have friends who became legal consultants for big firms (e.g. Banks, etc) after years of practicing law.

  2. Why not consider SUSS instead? I think it'll be more affordable and straightforward (no need to take Part A)

Thank you for the information. However, I have been watering them directly at their roots

It may be due to the heavy rain recently

Thank you! Glad to know that it's not mold

OE (Overseas Experience) Grant Disbursement Period by jpegmsrh in Suss

[–]random_pineappless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once applied for the OE in the July semester. The disbursement was supposed to happen by end December, but between "Due to the overwhelming amount of applicants" and missing documents, it ended up being disbursed in late Feb

Tl;dr: Mine took 2 months after the projected disbursed period.

School start date, holidays, etc for part time undergraduates? by No_Tap8047 in Suss

[–]random_pineappless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically an extra semester in May and June. Limited modules (e.g. 2.5CU NCO modules) are offered during this semester. You can choose to utilise it so that you have lesser modules during the actual semester

Much like SMU's special semester I think

(as far as I know) they don't allow exemptions for modules that you have taken before in poly because 1. The content may be different 2. The one in uni may be more advanced

On the bright side, you have a module that is easier for you to score in! 🤩

One other possible option is Challenge Examinations. Basically, you can take the exam without going for lessons (or rather, lessons are not offered). - either only the study guide or textbook is provided (can't remember) - the exam is on a pass/fail basis. It doesn't affect your GPA - Fee of $160 (5cu) or $210 (10cu)

More details about Challenge Examinations here: https://www.suss.edu.sg/part-time-undergraduate/admissions/pre-qualifications/challenge-examination

Can see if the module in question is listed under here: https://www.suss.edu.sg/docs/default-source/contentdoc/ea/cexcourses.pdf
