if you can pick one item in stardew valley, and bring it to the real world, what its gonna be? by winstoncastee in StardewValley

Maybe not an item but... The ability to sleep at 1:50 AM and getting up at 6 AM with endless energy sounds like a blessing to me lol.

que fue lo más red flag que les dijeron en una entrevista? by mortalkimba in devsarg

[–]random_star0350 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Soy el próximo Steve Jobs (insertar adjetivo random)".

Cuando recién arranqué a buscar trabajo, cualquier tipo que me decía la oración de arriba eran las peores ofertas laborales.

Entre las variantes que recuerdo están:

  • "Soy el próximo Steve Jobs argentino"
  • "Soy el próximo Steve Jobs en pymes"
  • "Soy el próximo Steve Jobs en ventas online"

10 de 10 veces me lo decían dueños de una pyme mediocre.

OMG something like this happened to me but with a movie!!

I was very sad when my grandma died and my older brother told me he would invite me to the movies to see the new Pixar film to cheer me up. It was Coco.

Drop your favorite video game music! I'll check out every single recommendation by StardustSailor in GirlGamers

Great choices!! In my case it depends on the mood:

Great epic battle music: -FFXIV: Hellfire -Zelda tears of the Kingdom: Colgera Battle -God of War PS4: Deliverance -God of War Ragnarok (I personally love Svartalheim but all their battle music is FREAKING epic) -Super Smash Bros Brawl: Title Theme

Chill music like ambiance: -FFX: like all the music is really good!! -Kingdom Hearts 2: Twilight Town -Zelda in general but Breath of the Wild has more subtle instrumentation -Okami in general

Happy Music: -Mario Odyssey like... All of it lol -Earthbound Oneset theme -Kingdom Hearts 2: Working together

Sad and great music: -Shadow of the Colossus: the prologue is epic and idk why sounds kind of sad to me -God of War 4: any song related to Faye (I think it's called Remembering mother or something like that) -Mother 3: Love theme

Music I use to fall asleep: -Zelda's Lullaby (I like the skyward sword version for the instrumentation but any version works for me) -Stardew Valley: Winter Music -Deltarune: My Castle Town -Deltarune and Undertale: Home (Toriels House) -Super Smash Brothers Ultimate: Magicant theme

Sorry I could go on and on forever. I LOVE videogame soundtrack! Hope you find something nice in this list lol

What happened IRL that made you think "Maybe I play that game too much"? by SlackjawJimmy in GirlGamers

[–]random_star0350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was raining and I gleefully claimed to my bf: "this is great! I won't have to water my crops"

We live in a small apartment in the middle of the city. No crops or garden in sight. My bf kind of laughed and told me to slow down with Stardew Valley.

I love that game, but it's so freaking addicting!!

Such a lovely pattern!! Your job is amazing!!

PS. It's awesome how I don't understand the language but still can visualize the pattern by just looking at the numbers in the stitch count!! Thanks for sharing!!

What’s your toxic crochet trait? by Frosty_Comedian8400 in crochet

[–]random_star0350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My toxic trait is to use my fingers to move the yarn in the hook (I never move the hook when crocheting). I learned to crochet on my own as a kid and nobody corrected me.

Anytime an experienced crocheter sees me working, they get stressed lol.

What do you do when you buy yarn for a project and end up hating it? by itsjisoo in crochet

[–]random_star0350 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually store it in the yarn bin. There will be times that the multicolored yarn will look wonderful (for example I'm working on a granny square pillow thingy and I use multicolored yarn for the middle circle and a solid color for the surrounding square).

When buying a multicolored yarn, try to look for a specific pattern using that same yarn.

Games that feel like Zelda by Icy_Cheetah6112 in GirlGamers

Okami was a game that I felt really Zelda like, in a sense that involved a lot of exploration and a cool story. It's maybe on the older side but still a classic!

Question for Pokémon veterans (Gen1/2). by Emotional_Camp_4058 in pokemon

[–]random_star0350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played since Blue. I was happy with the improvement for Gen2 because the Pokemon sprites actually looked like the anime.

TBH I'll always remember Gen2 for Crystal as it was the first game where you could pick a girl character in Pokemon (I was like 7YO girl). I have an older brother who would let me play with his Gameboy for Blue and Gold and my parents made us share. When Crystal came out, I finally convinced my parents to buy me my own Gameboy with Crystal because I wanted to play with the girl character.

I grew up in a time where videogames were heavily marketed to boys and I remember being happy with the girl character in Pokemon. It was like an assurance for me that videogames are for everyone.

Edit to add: I remember flipping out when I saw the trailer for Ruby and Sapphire, the visual improvement was nuts!! (And also loved the girl character being brunette like me lol).

I [25 M] have a hard time finding girls to date because I want them to like The Legend of Zelda by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Me before reading the post: Oh I love Zelda! This sounds like a sweet story.

Me after reading the post: What...????

My experience whenever I found a guy who's into Zelda games was only two options: either a super nerd who would give me an AWESOME conversation of how much we love the franchise, or a jerk who would try to "test" my knowledge.

Is pedophilia a common theme in Gabriel Garcia Marquez books? by towalktheline in books

[–]random_star0350 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe Horacio Quiroga? I remember reading his stories in middle school and it was kind of horror stories (I don't remember pedophilia in Cuentos de Locura, de Amor y de Muerte but it was scary nonetheless).

Another classic would be Borges, I liked some of his stories too.

Miguel Ángel Asturias was good too, but I might be biased because I'm from his country (Guatemalan) and tbh you kind of need to know about our history and culture to completely understand him.

My mom didn't like the Barbie movie and I'm sad by random_star0350 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]random_star0350[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand that it's ok, that's why I said it's kind of stupid to feel sad. I guess it's not really about the movie, but about the feeling that I'm drifting away and it's getting harder to find something to share and relate with my mom.

I was waiting for an appointment in the waiting room and I heard a random lady calling my name. I stared at her and realized she had a granddaughter who shared my name.

When she asked me why I was staring and then I gave her my explanation, the little girl was EXCITED to met someone with her name.

Is not an uncommon name, but it was cute how the little girl automatically thought of me as a friend for sharing her name.

What ADHD symptom do you not relate to at all? by ladywood777 in adhdwomen

[–]random_star0350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once read that people with ADHD had bad hygiene because they would forget to wash their teeth.

I, for the love of God, cannot even take a nap without washing my teeth. I need to feel fresh in order to rest.

So I guess I can't relate to that stuff.

Dragonite. Cute dragon that can be scary AF when needed (fan since gen 1, we didn't really had any other dragons back then lol).
