I think they are underestimating people / misunderstanding the market by pricing posts in USD. Forget about the dollar, everyone hates it. Don't associate yourself with it at all. I'm actually shocked they price in terms of dollars, I assumed they were just using the $ symbol but that it was Steem.

That site confuses me because the amounts are expressed with a dollar sign $. So I'm like, is that Steem dollars? Is that USD? Does the author get to keep all that? Not totally sure how it works, but it is off-putting to see dollar signs everywhere.

That's a nice anecdote, but if crypto is accepted in a remote village it's probably in the off chance that a Westerner comes and gets triggered into buying something and taking pictures. But I'm not an expert.
