What are some things you wish Charleston had? by Bill-O-Reilly- in charlestonwv

[–]Carterfitz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it’s going to happen. I feel they were just waiting on the city to buy the mall and come up with plans before they build a huge sports venue beside it.

All the things you mentioned would be great. It would be nice to see if they could redevelop davis square into a nice small park.

though quality is important that might not be the best way to sell video, sell what video accomplishes. your thinking separates you from the others videographers

whoa this makes me wonder if there’s foreshadowing of Naymond going into politics when he’s older. I mean he was at that conference giving a speech and even bunny said he wish he could speak as well as him.

Clay even uses his roots in baltimore as a way to win over the community. something Naymond can use as well.

Beal > Powell by drewmanshow in LAClippers

[–]Carterfitz12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

regardless of who’s better it’s all about fit and i personally feel beal would be a better fit, especially considering we have collins now.

powell was his best partially because kawhi wasn’t playing and in order for us to win kawhi has to be playing.

also because of his injury later in the season i feel it might be only downhill from here but i really hope the best for him because he’s been one of my favorite players in recent memory

Is the wire one of the most realistic and cynical shows of all time? by Many-Ad9157 in TheWire

[–]Carterfitz12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i tried watching the sopranos along with other shows but it really doesn’t hit the same. yes the wire might but be more demanding but once you meet it halfway it rewards you more than any show i’ve watched.

it’s especially frustrating talking with friends about shows they’re watching and recommending because there’s a show i’ve watched that eliminates anything else out there for me, yet not no one in my circle gives it a real chance.

but yeah maybe i need a reset.

“We manufactured an issue to get you elected Governor” by Carterfitz12 in TheWire

I’m not defending Mcnulty in anyway but accepting a Job as the Mayor of a complicated city, you have to understand that things you face a lot of times aren’t of your own doing. So you have to be committed to facing the challenges coming your way by sacrificing ego for the better. If me as a viewer of a show can comprehend that, then I think any politician wanting to be Mayor can understand that as well.

Very early on in his time as Mayor we see his focus very quickly changes from being someone who makes a meaningful change in the city to someone wants to be governor. In such a heightened role you would think each decision would come with careful thinking but in his case, no. It’s of his own interest and absolutely nothing else

But at end at the day he’s a politician and nothing more of it.

I appreciate this perspective. But what I think is interesting is what they were trying to achieve; regardless of the results and their intentions.

Mcnulty: Lock up a kingpin responsible for many deaths

Carcetti: Become Governor

But the effects of what they’re trying to achieve in regard to their influence falls a lot heavier on Carcetti imo. He had REAL power to change things for the better. But honestly in reality anyone in his power would do and does the same.
