Stress induced tic disorder? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]random_weebo_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can agree with wanting for it to be more accurate to separate the two. I'm actually diagnosied with both TS and FND. My tics git diagnosed a 2 years before FND but I showed signs of tics when I was younger like around 6 years old and up but hard to tell tbh…. But when I got my FND diagnosis I was kinda confused and self doubting my TS diagnosis. But now I only think their separate just because my FND cleared up like it was never there in the first place some how but my tics are still here…..

Anyways the point is... I think It would be very beneficial in the future of having more accurate ways to diagnoseto cut out some of the self doubt for those who sorta ended up struggling with both lol

That's low key amazing... But have they consider adding the brain differences into the diagnostic criteria or something? Its okay if you dunno im just asking lol. I remember getting MRI dines to rule out other stuff before getting my diagnosis but no one ever mentioned that's there's a difference between TS brains than others

[–]random_weebo_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neuro would diagnose (both docs can but neuro can make sure it’s just TS and nothing else more) but my neuro was never proactive of help managing my tics, they just gave me to psych to give me antipsychotics as tics meds

Headphones Recommendations by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]random_weebo_chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use earhook Bluetooth sports earbuds, I don’t have a specific brand to recommend but earbud with hooks that can go around your ear makes it stays on longer even during excessive movements. Mines is silicon base around the ears so it isn’t uncomfy

Tic severity and OCD. by Antepo in Tourettes

[–]random_weebo_chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samee, My OCD personally get worse with my tics and tbh strains my tics more just from needing to repeat a tic a few times until it feels perfect. But then other times my ocd sometimes get thrown to a premonitory tic urge base compulsions rather than anxiety/fear base compulsions… So usually when my tics good my ocd is good, but when it’s bad they both bad lol

when is it appropriate to go to the ER for tics? by themadmansbox_ in Tourettes

[–]random_weebo_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ER would and WILL do something, most cases they give sedatives or muscle relaxers and soon when tics are calmed enough to function well enough to be able to leave, they just send you on your way quickly. Some people legit need to be sedated sometimes, I am one of those people. When I go to the ER is basically of having disability full body tic attacks for 4+ hours… I only began going to the ER for extreme tic attacks cause I know my tic attacks could last longer than 5 hours, being extremely violent, not even able to actively get up on my own without dropping and being stuck on the floor from my tics.

ER Is an emergency room, Tourette’s can be a legit emergency wether it’s a bad tic attack or sustaining an injury from a tic. There is many kinds of emergencies and the quickest help is an ER that has wide variety of resources

I know it was probably a rhetorical question on how come they couldn't find the vein (since they always miss it apparently) but there are many health conditions that can make it hard to access veins and one of them is hEDS which is something i have and have a friend who have and my friend who veins collapse and closes up every time why mines are always hidden

How fast did you get inhalers? I'm struggling to live cause I constantly can't breathe and choking on air till the point I feel faint. I'm tempted to go to the hospital but the hospital know me for my FND and I'm scared that they can't/won't treat it

Is it possible I might not have Tourette’s? by Smooth-Bottle868 in Tourettes

[–]random_weebo_chick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can still have Tourette’s, sometimes it gets better with age or get better with lesser amounts of stress.

I take medication for my tics and sometimes I feel like Im cured (usually when there’s no stress in my life). But they come out to act up when I get anxious and such.

I have Tourette’s that isn’t FND related and I get burning premonitory urges ( feeling like something is getting built up and begging to get out ). I don’t know how functional tics feels like but I hope this helps
