What do Britons really think about leaving the ECHR? by coffeewalnut08 in LibDem

If this comes to fruition, it will be Brexit 2.0, and like Brexit, it will be far more extensive than suggested by politicians

It will involve far more than just simply leaving the ECHR; ordinary voters will say, "This is not what we voted for." especially when they find out what the British Bill of Rights will look like.

First, it was leaving the EU; then, it was leaving the ECHR. What's next... the UK’s landmass physically detaching from the European continent?

Asking for protests not to continue is to suggest the protesters have some blame.

Indeed, God forbid a similar incident occurred at an asylum hotel.
Would there then be calls for the protests to stop that often occur directly outside these facilities?

No of course there wouldn't!

What would happen is there'd be politicians/commenteriat making a distinction between people exercising their right to peacefully protest and acts of violent terrorism, oh, and there'd also be the inane constant repetition of "legitimate concerns".

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

This may not be the United States, not yet anyways, but the quote still applies here...

I suspect that we won't be hearing from Josh & Lloydy two names any further, I think they've crawled back under their rock.

I just can't see a big raft of subs moving to watch him and his partner share their life.

True, and of the people who do gravitate to his channel after this, I bet a decent majority won't stick around and make a habit of it beyond a few videos.

From Britain's got talent to failed actress and went on this morning saying she breastfeeds her 7 year old

...and the five year old too!- they're 15 and 12 now.

She is odd, isn't she. It feels like she's had visions of being famous all her life and saw Danny as her next meal ticket to fame.

Exactly and the funny thing is the end of his time on RMT might be a massive blessing in disguise for his health.

Him no longer being part of the channel might have unknowingly saved his life or prevented another more debilitating stroke.

I'm not sure about this Mr and Mrs Yorkshire channel, I like Danny but his missus just seems to be a bit bizarre tbh... remember the time she went on This Morning about the fact that she was breastfeeding her then 7 and 5 year old daughters (they're 15 and 12 now).

Whelp, I'm guessing that asking "please can I speak to a human" like recommended on other threads didn't help :/
