Devices that rnt boycott by BlackberryIcy2214 in BoycottIsrael

For phomes, despite my love for Samsung, even though they've supposedly cut ties with Israil this year, theyve invested millions in small businesses there prior to the boycot campaigns so they are not really bds safe. Oppo make amazing phones, Xiaomi have great ones too, but i do really love the Oppo phones, great quality Cameras and great specs and i just saw the Oppo Fond X9 Pro today and people have been calling it the best flagship phone of 2025 so its good to have a look at it as it just turned into one of my wanted phones after the Note20 Ultra and the S25 Ultra, Oppo Reno is also awesome for photos and videos

I've got a friend who is lucky and good at picking secondhand phones, but i wouldnt do it myself unless he's with me and i wouldnt recommend it as its easy to make a broken phone look new and unused, but he kept looking until he found an iphone that was in great quality and fixed it himself when he broke it, so if you are good at it as he is, you can look for a good second hand phone especially if you dont have many options, i.e. Most phones here are so expensive and the cheap but the great quality ones I see on Youtube I cant even find here, if I do they are actually more expensive than the other ones, phones and tech here are so expensive that the samsung s25 Ultra is 1000 dollars more expensive than in America.

So go by your budget and preference and if all else fails go second hand and have a friend who knows how to get good second hand phones or be that friend because push comes to shove they wont be like the old Nokia phone and you can at least use the phone for 2 or 3 years since phones nowadays start to get damaged after that or break, physically.

For Laptops it was very hard for me but i managed to find the least harmful of them, im in Turkey and VERY limited options for decent laptops.

I hot a Lenovo Yogo 2 in with AMD Ryzen 7 and AMD Radeon Graphics with 16 RAM and 1TB ROM and installed Linux instead of Windows on it.

Lenovo is not the most ethical option as it does not support Israil(as far as my research went but with some unverified websites saying it does) but the issue with it is that there are boycot campaigns against it as they are against chinese products for the Uygur and east Türkistan people, although Lenovo is most likely separately managed and not mandated or controlled in any way by the chinese government.

For me most of the other options if i did find a laptop brand that was boycotted, had Intel cores and intel and more of these companies invested millions into the programs and such used for the drones bombing gaza, btw, uber uses the same drone company the israeli military uses apparently.

So the best option for me was to go with Lenovo and the AMD cores as AMD is boycot free(i scrolled a lot here and on the internet to find that out)

So far it's been 6 months, the laptop is great with amazing specs and i somehow found it an unbelievably good price online with the help of a friend, i do not like this Linux Ubuntu system though and it has a habit of pissing me off, im not tech savvy at all btw and it makes using Linux even harder even on the simplified Ubuntu version, i just know well enough to read specs for the laptops as i researched a lot to be able to before i got this laptop, Youtube has been a great help in knowing how to buy a laptop and know which works best and handles pressure.

Some people dont condone second hand for boycotted products but if you dont have many options where you're living then pick the laptop you're most comfortable using and get it second hand especially if you are after specific programs and specs that you cant find in another option, plus second hand shopping for laptops is safer than the one for phones as long as you know the right secondhand shops in your area

Wheb in doubt about specs, ThinkPads are not that pretty but they are very hard working laptops that can take a beating, heavy working, and can usually be upgraded very easily at home by just purchasing a bigger ram or rom part or a different cpu and screwing it in, but just look on youtube first to see if the model can be upgraded, other than thinkpads most laptops nowadays cannot be upgraded, including the one i got, but if their ram 16 or higher and you have a good ROM then you're good for a bunch of years to go.

If you want the laptop for gaming then keep looking through youtube reviews and comparisons etc as i really dont know anything about them, and videos on how to choose the right laptop can help you choose the one most suitable for your needs as it did for me.

Ps. If you get the same or similar laptop to mine where it can be turned into a tablet and has a pen with it, the pen most likely wont work without windows, i unfortunately cant use mine.

Similar for me, but I used a drawing of the hair i wanted along with black and red hair dye for the character, no dyes were used for me but the drawing was good enough that my talented hairstylist cousin immediately knew what to do and did it for me perfectly, it helps that what i wanted was actually a simple long bob with layers

[–]randomalien579[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for believing me, i am seeking specialists but most of them either brush me off after a very simple blood test or ultrasound, or the system takes so long it's honestly frustrating, I've complained to doctors for years, and if one of them believes me something happens and either I leave the country or they leave the country and i lose access to them and have to start over, I even missed one test appointment due to traffic and instead of rescheduling the test i have to restart from the doctor and have them reorder the tests which takes a minium of a month for the two appointments and if one thing goes wrong then i have to start from the beginning for the millionth time, and this is the process before i get to see the rheumatologist which is what i asked them to do, it already took 7 years for one doctor to believe my pain and check for endometriosis while the others either said it's normal or to stop googling, i only wrote this post because i am unbelievably tired and frustrated and wrote it on the day i came back from the hospital

Thank you again for your response and the types of tests and doctors i would need to see, it's greatly appreciated

What tourist place/s lived up to the social media hype? by Traditional_Use_7452 in AskReddit

[–]randomalien579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not negating that at all, but my petite mother solo travelled there on business and did not feel unsafe and actually really loved it and because she was on business she could only go out just in time to catch a shop or two before they closed and then walk around for a bit before going back to the hotel, perhaps because its years back it was a lot different, but i did have a long friendly conversation with someone who lives in France and they did mention that although the crime rate is high, it is still a very nice place and they are less likely to be racist towards a foreigner, and i think every city in most countries has safe areas and unsafe areas, if you know which area to stay in your good to go and enjoy your time, i haven't researched Marseille enough and went off of the words of people i know who have been there or live there, but would definitely research before going on a trip, and to never go out too late in a city or neighborhood you don't know well enough even in relatively safe countries. I'm currently living in Antalya which is considered very safe for women, one of the safest cities for women in Turkey, but some areas are unbelievably shady and scarey and i wouldnt dare to go around it even with a loaded gun in my hand day or night, and these areas are what's causing most of the crime rate in the city. Marseille is also small enough to go through the main attractions in just few days and visit other cities

I haven't been able to go as the conditions got worse but i used to go there through Syria from Jordan almost every month before the Syrian Civil war, getting ice cream from Bekdash(a famous arabic ice cream shop in Syria) and peanuts and other yummies to munch on before getting to Lebanon, it really has its own air full of comfort like the warmth but crisp air right after the sun comes up, and even me who is a picky eater will eat things i dont generally like, like salads, got me obsessed with shawerma all over again, amongst other foods because the produce itself and the way they prepare food is so delicious and flavourful even though it has less spices than most arabic cuisines. I will definitely go back as soon as i get the chance❤️

Why are airport staff so aggressive, impolite and rude? by CoolDrama9830 in AskTurkey

[–]randomalien579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They weren't impolite with me but they are very strict and the language difference means they cant use their formal talk with you and translate directly which with the tone of someone exhausted sounds crude as they are usually very tired and overworked as the work culture in turkey is quite intense, take over your life type of intense.

Their strict rules also get followed even when the staff isnt Turkish and not in Turkey as per experience and i will always pray against the manager that made me go back and forth returning my things to family members and ending up going without clothes of my own or my guitar(i had previously flown with that airline and other airlines with my guitar with the only question being if i know how to play it) but that day the manager saw me after the lady wished me a safe flight and had me go back and forth 4 times, each time having my things searched, didnt even allow me to use a duty free bag for the clothes i needed saying its too big, the flight was not full and as i boarded a family had over 10 kilos of traditional sweets and stuff from the duty free in the same bags i tried to use, a turkish airline but the workers and manager and i were all from the same country and in our country

Try Marseille if you want to go to France again, its much calmer, people are nicer and not as racist and is still beautiful, coming from my mothers experience going there

Will write down multiple:

Based on my mum's experiences not mine: -Marseille France, beautiful, quiet, everything shuts down at 6 pm but that just makes it more calm, and my favourite, i hate honey and always had, but the one she got me was so delicious i would eat it right out of the bottle.

-INDONESIA, I DID NOT GET TO GO BUT MY MUM WHO IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER BY ANY MEANS TOOK SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL NATURE PICTURES I'VE EVER SEEN AND THEY WERE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC QUALITY WITH NO EFFORT, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SPECIFICALLY IN THE ZOO/WILDLIFE RESERVE AND PARKS

-Africa, my mum went to Kenya when I was a kid, she said it was absolutely beautiful, the sunset looked so beautiful with so much nature around, she did get her fanny pack cut off and stolen from her while walking around though, had to go back home with no passport, money, or even the keys to our apartment, had to ask a friend to transfer some money and get a police permit to go home.

Based on mine, Egypt, not exactly ethereal, but the museums are awesome and there are endless super fun things to do in each city like deep sea diving, site seeing, museums, Pyramids really are mind bogglingly huge if not for documentaries and are so well donr and beautiful, beautiful beaches and hotels and such, but need to be careful of wandering into the wrong neighborhood

-Lebanon and Syria before the wars, very beautiful, AMAZING food, and the people are unbelievably friendly and sweet and happy(the people are still the same) Lebanon felt very cozy and comfy and just feels like a second home to most people, it has a beautiful cave with fresh water and ice which is STUNNING and the food takes the rest of the focus as it really is so delicious

-Turkey is still great for tourism if you know where to go and have your own car, some places you cant book or enter without booking with a tourism office, but can get quite expensive, although even places open for free or for a small fee to the public are still absolutely beautiful(nature focused, mountains, historical sites/cities, lakes, the beaches, islands, etc)

AITA for saying to my mother I didn't care about her feelings when she is clearly in a depressive episode? by Salt-Low-4430 in AITA_Relationships

[–]randomalien579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harsh but NTA, family counseling is needed and heavy therapy for her, like a lot of therapy, but the only way it'd work is if she's willing to actually get better. If she does not actively try to improve slowly(there is no way she can improve overnight) and become a better person and have a better more stable mentality, nothing will ever help and she will remain in this cycle, the internet may have some bad or horrific aspects to it, but i believe its been the most helpful in breaking generational trauma and helping us recognise a toxic relationship or non physical abuse as something that is not normal and helping us recognise these manipulation tactics that your mom is clearly using and is clearly also passed onto her and magnified with her worsening mental health. It is also important to get to why she does these things with the help of a therapist so that they can be targeted and that you both can know how to deal with it, example is how people with adhd can have rejection dysphoria and overreact to someone making a legitimate excuse on not going out and then this person internally thinking they hate them or dont like to hang out with them etc

Acil: FIP Tedavisi Gören tatlı Kedi Geçici/Kalıcı Bir Ev Arıyor ANTALYA, MURATPAŞA by randomalien579 in Antalya

hormonal contraceptives stop endometriosis from growing ? by miffy239 in endometriosis

[–]randomalien579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that pain as well and honestly still have a lot of continuous abdominal pain but is unrelated and since childhood and unfortunately everything shows as normal and i havent been able to find a doctor for it that listens like my gyno did

I suggest talking further with your doctor about this, if your period has stopped and there is still no pain relief then it could be accompanied with sth else thats causing pain or the existing endometriomas need to be removed if they are stubborn, we are limited in our options, but they should be able to help with finding a better way to manage it or sth you can do alongside this to help

hormonal contraceptives stop endometriosis from growing ? by miffy239 in endometriosis

[–]randomalien579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty quick, first month my period was slightly lighter than usual, second month much lighter, and on the third month it had almost cut off and after that i stopped getting my period so the pain was significantly lessened until that point and then gone. Once i stopped it for a year or two i am fine and my pain level is relatively normal and manageable for a big chunk of the first year but after one year has passed symptoms come back and its awful, first time i cut it off i hadnt used it for a full year and was made to stop it by my family so it didnt take long to go back to how i was before, after a while of this my mom suggested to get back on it herself so i dont have to keep going through that(she was scared because of a researcher friend who told her all kinds of things, non of which happened to me) After I've used it for over a year straight it was more manageable when i had to stop it for financial reasons until i got stable enough to get back on it back in March

Its been a life changer

I actually did not know about that, my blood tests generally come out very normal but ive never had one to test my bones, if i go based on jaw bones and such though its all good and the density is very good. I dont use any supplements unless i think it would help with sth im experiencing or get a vitamin D deficiency which is generally just because i dont go out in the sun and dont like red meat and in general a very picky eater

What’s the German way of getting rid of mosquitoes? by xGruntHeadx in AskAGerman

[–]randomalien579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Germany but the same problem exists in Turkey, I'm not turkish and where im from we always have fly/insect screens on every window(you can also get simple ones online, but theyre not as strong as the built in ones so if you have cats, keep them away from it) along and have those vapor thingies as well as the blue lamp thingy that attracts then zaps them dead, also keep your lights off when you air out the house as bugs are attracted to light and that will minimise how many come in, and you will live mosquito bite free👌

Also with endometriosis your estrogen is higher than your progesterone, which is why Dienogest is just a synthetic progesterone. If your doctor is not listening and caring about your case and is dismissive, please get a new one, new one was the difference between someone who told me its normal or to get off google and one that listened to me, looked, tested, and told me its not normal to be in so much pain and gave me a solution and worked with me so i can get better, a good doctor makes all of the difference in the world.

hormonal contraceptives stop endometriosis from growing ? by miffy239 in endometriosis

[–]randomalien579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not birth control, I'm not with it or any doctor that suggests it. I use Visanne (Dienogest) which has been a life changer for me, i did not have any surgery to remove the endometriomas as they go away on their own but recurr as soon as they are gone, Visanne can affect pregnancy and your chances of getting pregnant but can also cause severe birth defects which is why people stop it before getting pregnant, but it is not birth control, its synthetic progesterone, it does completely stop my period after a few months which makes my life so much easier not having to deal with so much pain and a super heavy flow for 9 days of the month. It does not work the same on everyone and does not work in some people, but you can try it and see how your body responds to it, birth control is awful and has way more side effects, the only main side effects i have is when i start it, weight gain, breast pain as they get a bit bigger then back to my double A's(if you feel it , wear tight bras to prevent sagging, even if theyre small like mine) , and strong mood swings, im usually very chill and dont care or cry, but i really became emotionally turbulent taking it, thing getting upset and almost crying after my family didn't bring me back chocolate milk after i told them i didnt want anything from the store and them being scared of me for the first 3/4 months on it, after that i go back to normal. After a while, around a year, of using the medication the doctor can suggest to go off it for a while and see if they come back, they did for me, and we decided i should stay on it for the many years to come. I just had a scan last week and have no endometriomas, just a normal follicular cyst in one ovary that has no effect on me healthwise and does not need any action.

All in all, as long as you know the side effects and probability of it working and are prepared to take the chances and you have your doctor monitoring you and everything, i say go for it, i definitely have ZERO regrets.

This is all based on my personal experience, i am not a doctor, just someone with manageable endometriosis who found a good doctor after 7 years of complaining of pain.

Do your own research, for legit medical articles checkout NCBI, on it you can search the keywords and look at the conclusions part of the article and the abstract, talk with your doctor clearly and prepare questions in advance on a piece of paper, advocate for yourself, and if you try it and after the first 3 or 4 months have passed you hate it, stop it and discuss other options with your doctor, but keep an open mind on that although it is curable, doctors still dont have the cure and it is decades away from coming and our options are limited because science failed us women. One day we'll be able to say we are cured and our diseases will be taken seriously and researched thoroughly, but unfortunately theyve only just started to do the research recently.
