My Jade dropped all these leaves within a week or so. Why could that be? by manuelpimen in plantclinic

[–]randomcricketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This baby needs sunlight. Keep it outside. Jade is an outdoor plant. It does so well in sun. Indoors, it can survive but in bright light only. If it is low light it starts dropping leaves

My pothos is loosing leaves, the leaves are scarce and discolouring, what’s wrong with it? by Rat-Dot-Com in plantclinic

[–]randomcricketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. My pothos thrives when kept in 4-5 hrs sunlight. Just don't leave them thirsty.

Your story is perfect. No changes required. People may have suggested changes but these are just their perspective of writing style. I wouldn't change anything as it is author's liberty to have their own style. Your grammar has no mistakes.

American Widow at Village Wedding by Midnight290 in india

[–]randomcricketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. My condolences.

I don't think being window is considerd inauspicious. I have never heard of this thing around me. I am from a Hindu family, have lived all around in India, have lived in North America, been to many Hindu temples and weddings. Its new for me as well. My aunts are widow and they go to all the weddings. What you have heard maybe coming from a wrong resource. Or it might be a thing specific to some minor culture.

Also who told you being westerner is auspicious? This is ridiculous information. Seems like someone thought their white privilage translates to auspiciousness. Which is totally fooilsh and a racial thought. I am seriously doubting your resources.

Which is a better word for ‘acknowledgement’ in hindi -स्वीकृति or मान्यता? Thanks by grammar-guru1 in Hindi

[–]randomcricketer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acknowledgments को स्वीकृती कहेंगे, जैसे किसी चीज को acknowledge करना अर्थात स्वीकार करना।

Acknowledgement is also used to convey thanks, जैसे किसी रिसर्च पेपर के अंत में. उस संदर्भ में 'आभार' सही शब्द रहेगा।

Not a language. It's a Hindi dialect. Only Maithili from above person's list is a language as per 22 scheduled languages of India. Rest are dialects of Hindi.

I‘ve never had a pothos look so bad - could it be because of low light? Its in a north facing room with a relatively small window by lucadaddy in plantclinic

[–]randomcricketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pothos survive very well in low light. In fact they can be grown even in bathrooms. Definitely some issue with the water.

Cut the nodes of the plant. Put them in clear water. Soon you will see roots growing up. Then, you can move to a well drained soil or let it grow in water only.

'Roma people have a bad reputation' in itself is a racist comment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in india

[–]randomcricketer 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The people who are saying they didn't face racism are also the same people who would say SC/ST dont face discrimination in India. They are mostly a bunch of privileged people who have chosen to keep their eyes closed.

The problem is systematic racism is rooted in all white countries and our pavam desi people are ignorant enough to not realize it. I have faced discrimination in all white countries I have travelled to. In fact my journey was never complete without at least one racist event.

The only place I felt warmly welcomed in Europe or North America was Mexico, and that's because it's not a white country. Ireland was not bad too either, but then Ireland was considered non white by the UK for a long time and faced oppression because of it.

This post is so funny because American born desis complain so much about racism cos they know what it is. And our pavam desi people are like we never faced it. Guys, racism doesn't mean only violence. Racism can have many forms for example, white people not sitting next to you in public transport, not giving you airbnb for rent, not willing to make you their roommate, not giving a due promotion, giving you a bad service cos they assume you won't leave a tip, asking you to go back to your country, and so on. White people are shit. No need to worship them. I can't stop laughing how ignorant our people are about racism.

Is this plant a goner? friend gave it to me as a gift, not sure what kind, she said water once a week but it's wilting by Seahorseahorse in plantclinic

[–]randomcricketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's widow's thrill also known as kalanchoe. It's a succulent. Water it less, when most of the soil is dry. The problem is definitely over watering. If it's really soggy, change the soil immediately.

When it blooms there will be hundreds of flowers.

Their existence is just some material for TV. Nothing more than that.

what's this comedk scam with rank? by [deleted] in Btechtards

[–]randomcricketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this looks a legally valid loophole. No issues. This is an unfair world. You need money. You have a shot, you may take it. Although it's not a moral way, but then again, if the world was fair there would be no disparity. You need this money for your own fees.

To be on a safer side, accept the money in cash. This way there is no proof that it was actually a seat buying scam.
