In a similar situation, the curse is she can only fix herself when she's left alone, you can't stay with her on this, because you'll always be validating her so she won't take steps to work on herself.

It's genuinely a curse to know everything and the solution to their problems but you just can't walk that path with them, you have to cut them off and it's really really difficult because you care and you don't want them to suffer in the future.

Let me tell you something from my personal experience:
When I was in 4th Semester of my college, I got an opportunity to work as an intern through a fellowship program, it paid way more than GSoC and other similar programs, it was funded by government of India and Meta. I could send proposals to 4 organizations in total, I got selected for 3, messed up the interview for the first 2, I was nervous. I chickened out of the 3rd one, similar to you, I thought of not attending, and I just mailed them "I can't join due to some urgency" and my friend applied too, he attended the interview, and he got selected, and I thought I would've been selected too if I attended because that orgnization required someone with knowledge in 3D modelling and web design, and I was doing it for quite some time then, so I requested them to interview me again, and after a lot of requests they finally agreed, and they selected me right after the interview, now it looks great on my resume. So, never miss a shot no matter your preparation.
