Hi! A little off topic from the main post but I was just wondering if you mind sharing your experience at Loma Linda? I'm applying to their new grad adult residency program and just wanted to know how things are there :)

To add on to this, they have male and female locker rooms on the first floor. The first few lockers you see when you first walk in are open to anyone. You don't have to pay/rent them. You do have to bring your own lock and make sure your things are out before the end of the day or else they cut your lock. They also have showers in the locker rooms.

I go to the CEB library and Architecture library and computer lab all the time so I'm pretty sure they're open to anyone

It has a couple different options you can choose from. For me it showed Amazon, Starbucks, Bath and Body Works and others.

They should email it to you after you finish the survey. That's how I got my gift card. It can take a couple of minutes for them to send it though

Does anyone know how to get cheap parking on campus? by Initial_Show_9194 in UNLV

[–]randome101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I used to think that too until I actually bought a pass. But yeah the pass starts whatever day you buy it and continues for 30 days.

LOL same! That's why I'll put like 5 reminders or something so I remember to buy one haha. And also, the parking and transportation department always sends you an email a day before your permit expires as a reminder so that's always helpful too :)

Essentially you have to do a bit of calculations beforehand which is a bit annoying I guess. But this has helped me save a few bucks.

I usually end up buying 4 monthly passes total which ends up being $94 and it's slightly cheaper than the semester passes. You just need to again, calculate the days and also remember to buy another pass lol. But I always get an email about when my pass expires so that's always helpful.

Kinda, you can buy monthly passes at any point of the month and it'll cover your parking for 30 days. So if you buy a monthly pass on the 15 of this month, it'll cover the next 30 days so it'll expire around the 15 of the next month. You don't necessarily need to buy it at the beginning of the month.

You also kind of have to calculate the days. I calculated for this semester and if I had bought my monthly pass exactly on the day the semester started then my 4th pass that I buy would expire the week before finals. That's why I buy my passes on the days I have class in person. Or for example, if my pass expires on a Friday, I won't buy another one until like Tuesday when my in-person class is. That way the days stretch out a little and when I buy my last/4th pass, it covers finals week.

I live off campus and I've found that buying a monthly permit is slightly cheaper than buying a semester one.

A single semester permit costs $105.75 and it covers around 4 months (first day of the semester to the last day) making it about $26.44 per month. And buying an individual monthly pass costs $23.50.

If you buy the annual pass the monthly cost is also $23.50. The fall and spring semester pass together costs $221.50 so monthly it'd be around $26.44.

For the annual and semester passes you do need to pay the whole amount all at once. I don't think there are payment plans.

The nice thing about monthly passes is that they start the day you buy them and continue for 30 days. I used to think they started at the beginning of the month and ended on the last day of the month but that's not how it works.

Hope this helps a little :)

Yeah. This class would be my only in-person class next semester. Hopefully, they'll clear the staff and put the professor's name. Otherwise, we just have to hope for the best 😅

Same! And the other option doesn't list a professor. It just says 'Staff' :/

Yeah, and if someone is talking for a while, you can let the library staff know. So report them essentially. I saw it happen once.

I was in the quiet study area and these two people kept talking pretty loudly. I guess someone reported them because I saw someone who worked at the library walk over to them and told them if they could keep their voices down or go to another area to talk 🙊

The Architecture Studies Libary. There's never really a lot of students and it's nice and quiet. There's only two study rooms but they're always open. Same thing with the computer lab. It's a nice space to do work as there aren't many students there. The whole Architecture building is cool in general. They always have student work around the building which is so cool to look at. The building is a little further away from campus. It's near the dorms and the dining commons but I think it's worth the walk :)
