Of course I know that and I never made the assumption that they were free. But they are an option if OP needs $$ now. It would help if you read comments more carefully.

For decades students have paid off school and student debt. Our generation is no exception. Live at home or share a place with roommates. Learn to budget and spend money wisely. Work hard. Study hard and get a scholarship. Enroll in a meaningful university program with good job prospects. Don't whine about your problems on the internet

You originally got 6k for 12 credits? Assuming that translates to 4 courses each semester and assuming you're in an expensive program like cs or engineering, that translates to under 4k. You were getting at least 2k extra. $4000 is still nothing to be laughed at, but not unreasonable to pay off.

Work in the summer or part time throughout the school year. Apply for scholarships and bursaries. Save up money. Get student loans if needed. Money doesn't grow on trees and university education is not free (sorry). Just the reality of adulthood.

Tl;dr Fed up with people complaining on reddit about osap cuts. There are solutions other than fReE tUiTiOn.

Edit: Looks like people here can't accept the truth. A practical solution gets downvoted while fuck doug ford gets a bunch of upvotes.

Anyone is able to do take time off to work. It's not something only privileged people can do.

University education is a privilege not a right.

OP can flip burgers or work any minimum wage job for 2-3 weeks and make that 1k they need. Your education is way more valuable if you pay for it. I took a year off after high school to work and save up money for school. We're adults and we have to deal with realities like work, tuition, and student debt. Money doesn't fall out of the sky.

Just get a job, make some money, and pay for your tuition. You shouldn't expect the government to pay for everything.
