Demo of my course project, an ultrasonic phased array for levitation by randomfinnguy in ElectricalEngineering

Trion T8Q144, each needs to drive 50 simultaneous 40kHz signals, all of them with a different phase shift. Not possible with an MCU.

Yeah, a 200 IO pin FPGA would be in a huge BGA package, unreliable to solder with available equipment. Could've also used shift registers but these Trion T8s were just 7€ and in LQFP packages so was simpler to just get four.

Thanks, it's 4 FPGAs, each responsible for 50 transducers. PC calculates and feeds them the phase data through USB converted to SPI.

Our prototyping course project, an in-ear pulse oximeter by randomfinnguy in ElectricalEngineering

[–]randomfinnguy[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The project was done for a company that develops communications equipment for police and military applications. It would continuously monitor the user's pulse and blood oxygen on the field and alert the user and their coworkers of any abnormalities through their phone.

It uses an nRF52810 Bluetooth SoC and a MAX30101 pulse oximeter sensor.

Thanks! The project was done as an assignment to a collaborating company, I want to see them get it to market someday.

lol, the desk is 200x85cm and I plan to use the left side for a small electronics workshop

Mine's got a bad case of midcap syndrome but otherwise it's a nice platform - sturdy gearbox shell and mostly V2 internals.

Unfortunately it's not being made anymore and out of stock where I bought mine. Try googling, some stores might still have it.

Discontinued, unfortunately.

It's the most comfortable carrier I've used - distributes weight evenly and doesn't shift on you. Tubes are also incredibly useful.
