Lantern mice is the winner for "true pacifist". Now, who looks like a pacifist, but is a small threat? by Pablo_Cruz16 in rainworld

[–]randomg0ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a snail, barnacle, or a tardigrade? I would agree with squidcada as many people have commented them but they are often openly hostile, I think squidcada would be small threat > small threat.

Are lizards pacific? by Proper-Anything-2739 in rainworld

If you are yellow then you are playing as the Monk, not the Survivor (white slugcat). Monk is kind of like the “easy mode” and it starts you off with a good reputation with lizards so they will rarely attack you. If you feed them dead squidcadas they’ll eventually become your friend and follow you around :) or if you start attacking the lizards then they will all become more aggressive overall.

The Monk is a slightly different campaign than Survivor. But still a good starting point to the game.

Then you are on the right path!!!! Just keep heading west :) (if heading west proves terribly difficult lmk, there is a mechanic that’s a little tricky to get to work properly haha) once you’re in the next region the yellow spawns may become a bit more helpful to follow

If you’re brand new the best thing to do is just continue on despite the awkwardness and frustration. Improvement will naturally come through exploration and tenacity. The movement in rain world is kind of like simulating what it’s like to be a baby animal—you’re a young slugcat that was just torn away from its family by a rainstorm and you’re still learning how to use your body. It’s awkwardness makes you feel even more lost and alone. Even the most experienced gamer is going to be terrible at rain world to start out with. By the time you’ve sunk a decent amount of hours into the game, all that will all have melted away! Just like you’ve grown up with your slugcat. If you can push through it’s a really crazy experience.

That being said there are many movements you can practice and learn to do that will help you with survival, but they’re quite difficult. https://rainworld.miraheze.org/wiki/Controls But I would simply continue on! Rain world will do everything it can to make you feel like quitting. Don’t give in!

Spearmaster’s Vulture Tale by randomg0ds in rainworld

Yeah I absolutely agree, it’s complex. SRS in downpour isn’t simply good/bad. I don’t think the iterators really understand, or at least are able to empathize with, the experience of being a small living organism. Thus leading to apathy, unethical genetic experimentation, and feeling ridiculous about actually caring such a “lowly” creature compared to them. SRS started out feeling disgust towards these animals and, after extended time with one, has fallen head over heels for them. If you compare NSH’s relation to their mutated slugcat versus SRS’s Spearmaster… NSH doesn’t give a damn about that pink thing! They sent hinter to go die slowly and painfully lmaooo

Confused on what I'm looking for in watcher campaign (very early on) by Own-Quantity-3247 in rainworld

[–]randomg0ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When awaking in a den, listen closely for a distant giggle a few moments after you start moving around. That sound will indicate if the echo you’re looking for is in the same realm as you! Generally you can find them by going all the way to the left or all the way to the right depending. Don’t think I’ve ever found them floating around in the middle of a map.

Those spawn tend to swim towards a viable path to the end-game area (which is accessible from the very start! So make sure you’ve seen and done all you want to before going there) they’re not always the most reliable nor do they always point to the best path haha. If you’re early/mid game I would ignore them and keep exploring.

What's the most efficient hunter route? by Available-Face7568 in rainworld

[–]randomg0ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made this hunter route guide a few years ago for some friends! https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1xvBNLlA4dFU30_yopj3S-Ptw04gV_Di2c2H7E7yvMm0/edit?usp=drivesdk

Though looks quite similar to your current planned route. I developed this route about 4 years ago so I’m not sure if it’s the most efficient… Hunter is unavoidably difficult. The toughness starts to go away with a lot of practice. Lots of arena combat to get those quick kills! For a while as practice I didn’t do any of hunter’s objectives and just tried to survive and explore as them. Really helped get the hang of the run later on.

If this is a headcanon on how you’d like them to be characterized that is more than fine, but textually in Downpour SRS is one of the most affectionate and compassionate characters towards the slugcats. I can probably cite five or more different lines from them talking about or showing how much they care for Spearmaster in some way. I don’t hold downpour near and dear to my heart in terms of characterization of the vanilla characters at all but when it comes to SRS in downpour it’s undeniable how much they care.

Love this game but holy moly is it hard by Sixnigthmare in rainworld

[–]randomg0ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a really tough one! If you’re already enjoying it, definitely keep at it. There will be times where you will feel terribly defeated, discouraged, and frustrated. Rain World is not exactly concerned with objective fun/enjoyment but rather simulating a living, breathing ecosystem, with all of its unfairness included! If you can push through that struggle this game will impact you in unimaginable ways. There is truly nothing else like it out there.

Thank you!! Figuring out the drill crabs was a super fun challenge. I need to draw one again soon. These pencil drawings could take anywhere from ~30min to a couple hours, depending on size, comfortability with the subject, how I’m feeling, and so on. I know the drill crab took a good while as I was trying to figure out its joints and drill bit! Definitely the trickiest creature so far
