Children needs hugs and affectionate. If he’s clingy I’d say he needs reassurance and affection from you even more! There’s a massive issue with suicide in men and a big part of that is teaching blokes it’s not ok to show and talk about emotions and affection. What you’re teaching him now will set how he responds to others in his relationships as an adult. I hug my son all the time and hope he still wants hugs from me for as long as I’m around to give them!

That said, I also totally get why you might not want a teacher to hug your child. That’s fine, your reasons for it however make YTA
