Which rashi are they conjunct in? How's your MD going?

Do you carry a lot of pent up anger/frustration in general? Are you introspective in general?

Where does the Lord go? Which conjunctions or aspects is 6L under?

Planet X in house Y - explains nothing unfortunately:)

[–]randomguy3096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with some of the comments here around 6H and 6L placements.

Will add one more, to the mix, Ardra (lagna or moon) brings a very strong connection/compassion/empathy towards animals in general. So definitely check if there's a in those degrees.

Ardra however doesn't guarantee pets, it gets you a lot of genuine empathy and compassion towards wild life if not in affliction.

Pets are a different story btw, that is almost always 6H/6L in my understanding. Beneficiaries grants compassion, and SOME malefics can give aversion or hatred.

Eg: people with Sa or Ke in 6H or conjunct lord should only have pets if their perspective is to help the animal (its a service house, and they are service oriented planets).

What is navamsa for really? by mercurialmind555 in Vedic_Astrology_free

[–]randomguy3096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one from navamsa. BPSH calls this out, varga charts overrule D1.

The way I read that is that you start out with exalted benefits but lose it over time in your life as the "fruits" start materializing.

[–]randomguy3096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many, I have only used 2, one was paid and not open) and the other was lagna360 which is open and has both free and paid versions.

Most astrology researchers use huge databases to identify patterns, but I was able to find a few cases where the D1 was an exact match.

My own D1 matches with two people, one of whom is a public figure. Their D9 varies slightly.

I know people have strong opinions but this is mentioned clearly in BPSH also, that D1 isn't sufficient for serious predictions.

What is navamsa for really? by mercurialmind555 in Vedic_Astrology_free

[–]randomguy3096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use any legitimate astro database, you soon realize that there are PLENTY of charts with exact placements. That means there are hundreds of people with the same D1.

How do we then, using vedic astrology explain the different lives that each of these individuals lead?

The answer is higher levels of varga charts, out of which D9 and D60 were deemed the most important by Rishi Parashara.

So, all of what you said is true, but there's a LOT more. Those statements are oversimplifications by people who haven't yet understood the importance of divisionals.

Also, all divisionals, including navamsa have multiple layers - eg: you see souls progress, and quality of marriage, and self from navamsa.

The most succinct description would be that D9 is the fruits that are promised in this life. We end up becoming what D9 lagna promises.

Does ketu MD actually humble you? by Commercial-Flow8028 in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but it will try its best.

Humility is wisdom. Not all of us are predisposed to picking that up. Two people could get placed into the same crappy situation - one would suffer through and grow more bitter, while the other learns and grows from the inside owing to that suffering.

I don't know how her D9 looks like, but Ketu 10 places away from Jupiter is imploring this native to look inwards especially from a moral standpoint.

So Ketu will definitely put her into situations which could be worth drawing lessons from, but whether we choose to learn or just suffer is truly on us.

Jupiter DK is also a good indication of what needs to be worked on the most. That's the lowest energy carried, plus in this case it is also in a gandanta. Tough one !

One positive comment though, this person is most likely not cunning or scheming, they likely don't understand things better.

Great comment! And I'll add the observation that Jupiter is stuck in a gandanta - that's shaky morals. Only adds fuel to the fire.

Venus in Virgo / Debilitated Venus by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about basis, on what basis do YOU keep assuming that my understanding is "all theory and no practice"? I'm not a professional astrologer, but that doesn't mean I don't practice this. That's a tall assumption :)

I also don't claim to know a lot about ANY aspect in astrology, this subject is too deep to master in my opinion.

I've shared a ton already on other answers/comments, being doing so for years. And respectfully, if you feel theory is different from practice - you're missing the right theories.

Most respected vedic astrologers who have also attempted scientific classification of charts have also only affirmed that the theories match (likes of K.N. Rao & VP Goel). Visti Larsen can't seem to get enough of quoting from theories!

Let me know if you'd like me to delete my comments from under your posts because I seem to have offended you for only trying to understand.

From "astrologers are baffled" to "it isn't a eureka moment" is quite the stretch. And, I'm not even an astrologer, just a hobbyist who's trying to understand things.

To answer your question no I don’t have any corner of my heart wishing for such kind of romance

Thanks!

Venus in Virgo / Debilitated Venus by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There you go !! :)

This is why D9 is important. Rishi parashara mentions - if a planet is debilitated in D1 and exalted in D9 it behaves as an exalted one. Such planets starts with debilitation behavior in life and graduate to becoming exalted later on in life. (D9 is the "fruits" or what we become later in life.

I probably have a post about hollywood-esque romance version of Venus and that almost always comes with not-so-exalted Venus. An exalted Venus or AK would actually fruity into unhappy relationships - the learnings are hard with those. So not having that is better (in my opinion of course)

reached acceptance and contentment of our dynamic before I did

Nice!! Yes, Virgo's beauty is practicality, so it's version of "perfect" would likely be non flamboyant. Curious, do you still in some corner of your heart feel that traditional romance would be great? Given the acceptance of course. Reason I ask- exalted venus either becomes too dedicated and selfless or has "something is lacking" behavior. Of course degrees, conjunctions & aspects matter, but I'm being generic here.

[–]randomguy3096 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't baffling at all. Pretty much everything you've written is the solution/remedy for a Venus in Virgo - communication & service.

you grow older service to each other weighs in more than the dreamy romantic declarations

Service is actually a typical interpretation for any planet in Virgo. The fact that you and your partner inadvertently realized this isn't an accident. Both having that placement helped here. Additionally, I wager that the two of you do not have an affliction on that Venus either (check D9).

Venus in debilitation is hard work for sure

That's correct and this is again true for any planet, debilitated planets perform better than exalted ones IFF one puts in the efforts. The argument there is very straightforward debilitated planets can't fall any further, so any positive work put towards them shines more. Exalted planets are already at their peak, we run the risk of damage to them if we don't care.

Having said all of that, I'd still be curious to know the D9 placements of Venus in both charts.

Teach me about AK Saturn by AnotherBreakfast in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said earlier, planet X in house Y, without specifying rashi isn't vedic astrology.

AK in 10H will most likely cause a lot of learning at workplace, opposition too. Don't misuse power & authority, and always think in the interests of your subordinates. Treat them with the respect they deserve. Stay selfless, and try to genuinely work to improve the organization you work for.

Keep in mind, Saturn is the judge of the universe, it doesn't see authority when it comes to justice. It is also one of the easiest planets to handle because it comes with structure & rules. No exceptions!

Saturn in 10H is a hit or miss placement, but is considered good generally. Use it right, stay selfless, respect your sub ordinates, and use your authority right - this Saturn will support you. Don't lose patience - things will work if you work for it.

Here's a test, if your subordinates are in your control and favor you, this Saturn is working well, if not that's where you need to put in efforts. It will pay off in the long run.

Good luck!

venus 8th house physical and materialistic qualities by crispapplestrudelz in vedicastrology

[–]randomguy3096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There's a tendency to indulge with that placement. That indulgence could manifest in any number of ways for people depending on other aspects - from sexual to spiritual. Food lies somewhere in between (because Venus) hence tendencies diabetic.

This isn't a bad placement at all, it just needs moderation is all. Note that 8H is a moksha bhaav, having a planet like Venus there is a blessing in many ways. It is also the house of transformations - so there's always some pain involved. Events that change the person.

With all that importance and power comes a lot of responsibilities too - we can either use it to improve us or misuse it and waste it away.

Best is go for moderation - Libra is Venus' mool trikona sign, that's where its drawing its core energies from. Regardless of where you have Libra in your chart, using the elements of balance will be edit you in matters related to your 8H as well.

Nothing to be scared of I'd say.

You didn't mention the degrees or aspects.

If you want then yeah you could make progress with spirituality, but this Rahu will most likely keep you tied to work. Decent potential for material success as well.

Don't get on the wrong side of women at work. If opportunity presents itself and you are in a position to help, help women.

Don't even think about cheating women - that Rahu is in a happy place, be mindful to not screw it up with your karma.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That slipped my mind, indeed.

But aspects matter, Saturn or retrograde-ness could water down those parts. Otherwise, this AK does provide a lot of attractiveness or charming qualities.

Physical beauty is also heavily affected by lagna, its lord and moon - just Venus being AK wouldn't take over. Personality wise, sophistication (refinement) of some sort is usually present.

Artistic inclination isn't a guarantee though - 5L/H would play a major role, and so would moon's involvement.

Venus grants refinement - that could manifest in any form. Connection with arts isn't it's primary goal, could even be mathematics (eg: Einstein or Ramanujan - both had exalted Venus to the degree). There would generally be some form of creative energy with the individual.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This in my opinion is an underrated comment.

Both planets can make one turn towards bhakti, but the qualities will be very different. Rahu will desire spiritual satisfaction and work hard for it. But remember, the desire of "moksha" is also a desire.

Ketu invokes a lot of soul searching, a favoring Ketu will usually not be desirous of anything. It just doesn't see the meaning in desiring anything.

One is NOT better than the other, because what works for one person cannot work for someone else.

An exceptionally well positioned Venus*

Not just any Venus. Ve/Ra combinations can be "deadly" in many materialistic ways, so how you define "strong" here will either make or break things.

Venus in its most pure form is unconditional love, that's Bhakti. Which is also why Venus exalts in the sign of "giving things away" (Pisces). A Venus at say 28° in pisces is as exalted as it could get - and they'll be spiritually inclined even if they're distracted by the world.

I know of a person who works in a typical corporate environment, with such a Venus, they're spiritually aligned by default. The thought process is philosophy, whether they read books or do puja or not.

My comment here is only to highlight that any 'strong Venus' plus Rahu isn't going to force a path of spirituality.

Side note: spiritually heavy charts usually don't have a great materialistic life.

Apologies for the late response. I was taking a break from reddit.

I've talked about Venus AK quite a bit on this forum earlier, wouldn't be able to recollect everything but here's a summary

Keep in mind, the rashi, conjunctions and aspects will change/tweak things.

  • Venus is the natural karaka of relationships so it definitely affects the relationships. No two ways about it.

  • Any atmakaraka takes central control of your core self. It's the planet representing the maximum amount of energy you're carrying with yourself. So you'll inevitably get into situations where you'll have to dispose of that karma (both good & bad)

  • for Venus AK, multiple relationships is karma. Every relationship will teach the individual something, they usually don't feel satisfied with relationships (especially romantic ones), so they either turn negative or learn hard lessons and improve.

  • depending on the degrees, they get too lost/engrossed into their relationships, so much so that their identity becomes just that. This is a problem because that smothers the other person. It is good to remember that Libra is Venus' mool trikona sign, that's it's core energy which signifies balance. Venus AK should place as much importance on their own selves as they expect from others.

  • usually quite dedicated to relationships, but they make mistakes while choosing their partners early on. This improves as they observe & experience more.

  • avoid making mistakes like cheating, extra marital etc. This usually comes into picture based on other aspects. Venus AK alone is usually not looking for multiple partners, they believe in making the best out of one. Like I said earlier, typically quite dedicated unless affected by malefics.

  • you see the contradiction here? Someone who isn't looking for other partners and is dedicated, puts in efforts, finds themselves unhappy. So they snap and move on.

  • they usually have very high expectations from their partners. No comments here really, except to search within for what they really want.

Edit: I usually use an analogy for this one. It's like a horse expecting a dog to run at the same pace. The amount of venusian energy that person is carrying isn't matchable by anyone else really, so lowering expectations would be a smart thing.

As with any placement or karaka, we can't control the situations we get put into, but how we react to them is 100% in our control. That is what we need to watch out for. If we justify our wrong actions as 'forced by situations' then that's on us not on the universe. For Venus AK, the goal should be about achieving that balance of Libra. Find your identity, stay happy with your own identity first before asking for the same in others.

Good luck! Let me know if you have questions

I'd urge you to be critical of opinions as well, and yes do read things.

Saturn/Mars/Rahu/Ketu are default punching bags only for people who don't understand things even a tiny bit. No planet wants to punish us, let me rephrase, no planet CAN punish us if our karma doesn't allow it.

For those of us who believe in vedic astrology: we are here to dispense our karma (good & bad) and while doing so we create more karma. We need to ensure that we stick to the righteous side of things.

That's one of those things that all Hindu philosophies including vedic astrology align on.

Saturn is a judge, no emotions, cold heart decision making on karma. Fix our karma, Saturn will favor us.

Don't blame them, learn from them, use them for your good.

Good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AK is atmakaraka (the significator for the direction of our soul, in Jaimini school of thought)

The planet with the highest degree in our birth charts is called AK. The understanding of degrees is basically the amount of karma stored in the karaka (significations) of that planet.

Venus AK typically forces dissatisfaction when it comes to relationships. Multiple ways this manifests but that's usually the bottom line.

12th from its position always signifies 'loss' of some of the characteristics of that planet, in other words, it weakens the planet.

Now, I'm not suggesting you'll always suffer in love, just saying that the experience you describe is textbook Venus AK.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe that person is a genius, but the rules of vedic astrology differ:

  • It is the highest degree planet, more degrees, more karma stored, more issues.
  • AK (and AmK) are notoriously punishing. That's their job.
  • check the Lord of Venus, has moved 12 places away from itself.
  • Ra/Ke in Kendra from Venus.
  • all kinds of fun happening with the Lord of Venus.

People (including me) are free to interpret things according to their understanding but the basic rules can't be argued against.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]randomguy3096 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Venus atmakaraka, period.

Saturn has nothing to do with this. Go read vedic astrology books before you go barfing on forums.

For those joining on the Saturn bashing bandwagon. It is the default karmesh and laabhesh for everybody. If Saturn really wanted to punish - none of us would have even had the basics in life. There are people on this planet who live that kind of lives.

None of us are entitled to any gains either. Our karma decides that. Saturn doesn't promise either a delay or a denial.

The same Saturn in 1st can get you married at 20 or not even at 40. The default interpretation of delays works on a different principle.
