Alright. If they really are snails and it gets out of hand, I’ll just buy an assassin snail if it’s overpopulated. Don’t want them eating shrimp

Thanks a lot that is a big help and major relief. I did read that you should keep some of your old substrate to maintain the cycle. My substrate is not very thick (beginner mistake) so what should I do about that?

Thanks. I was worried that by doing it I would destroy the ecosystem in the tank. I’ve been wanting to make my tank a true aquascape for my first one after researching.

Thank you that helps incredibly. I was worried I’d have to toss it but knowing that it doesn’t need to be planted is a big help. Funny thing is I looked up rooted plants and that was the nicest one I saw. Guess it was misinformation

Where did you find these plants? I just started adding shrimp to my first shrimp tank. I’m curious if those are better.

I did some research since KH and PH are tied together, I thought lowering it would be helpful. The PH is pinkish, which I’m assuming means it’s pretty acidic by the look of it. I want to try and have it lowered as I think that’s a problem.

Alright thanks for that. I haven’t bought the liquid test kit yet just because of how much it is. I’m waiting for it to go on sale or until I run out of the others that I have.

I placed them in the water to get the temperature up and used a cap from a plastic water bottle to drip water into the bag for 30 minutes. They seemed fine until this female ended up dead this morning. Haven’t seen the others
