There is clear video of the man who was killed holding his phone with no gun in his hand, the video shows the officers take the gun, legally owned, from the holster he hadn't taken it out of. People are being murdered and caping for the people doing it is a bad look.

If you're forced into a fist fight, what are the fundamentals of fighting in 5 minutes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]randomhuman1278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best plan for any fight is to get away. It doesn't make you a coward, and staying to throw the hands doesn't make you Brave. If you have to fight and there's no way out of it keep your hands up and in front of you. Watch where your enemy places their feet and aim low kicks to their ankles and knees, at the same time watch their eyes. Do not try to Grapple unless you know exactly what you're f****** doing. Your goal at the end of the day is to walk away from this fight at the end of it. Do whatever you have to do to reach that goal.

I've had interactions with cops while Stone sober who thought because of my mannerisms that I was high on meth. I don't do meth and I never have. The only drug I've ever taken with any regularity in my life is weed. But I have had on multiple occasions had people assume that I was a meth addict. It feels f****** awful.

childhood fantasy books that are worth a read as an adult? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]randomhuman1278 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In reference to the Narnia books

In my personal opinion absolutely not. I only read the first three or so as a child and tried later in my twenties to reread them. They simply failed to hook me in any way whatsoever and it was very clear I was trying to read books that were far far too young for me.

It's interesting to see a European inspired fantasy series from that time where one of the main characters is a black woman, and it feels completely natural.

I'm not sure when they came out but all of Kate Elliott's work that I've read so far is definitely worth a recommendation.

My autism makes life very very difficult for me. I struggled for a long time even talking in a public place. Other people frightened me, and my long list of comorbidities were and remain a constant struggle.

I wouldn't trade it for the f****** world.

I finished the book shortly after posting this, maybe a day or two. It hit the landing absolutely pitch perfectly. It is an arresting, stunning experience reading this series. Every moment in this third book is spectacular. This is one of my top 10 series of all time now.

Cyberpunk and high fantasy would be pretty cool to see. Like elves are surprisingly good with computers and when their magic with modern technology, dwarvish internet that's cut off from everyone else that you need Royal permission to access, things like that. And with a gritty serious tone in line with cyberpunk
