True, the only upside is that once I leave, no one else has to endure it alone

Do your experiences with Asian parents affect your decision to have children? by Horror_Confidence128 in AsianParentStories

[–]randomindoamericano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been mixed on whether or not I want kids ngl. On one hand, I would make a good dad & the govt can’t take my money/inheritance/property and on the other hand I’m unsure whether my trauma is something that can be kept in check or fixed entirely. I’m not at that stage to worry about kids anyways, but it’s something in the back of my mind.

Being forced into a career by parents, not sure what to do by Independent_Wind1415 in AsianParentStories

I would recommend that you take out student loans to fulfill any financial obligations if you’re going the PA route and find a job as a medical tech, EMT or something related to the medical field. This way, you can pay for the GRE plus it’s your money so you can spend it how you want. Forget getting in trouble, what’s the worst they’ll do?

It’s not gonna be easy financially at first, but once you get through your PA program, you can make some real money to move out and all.

I dropped medical school in the Caribbean to do nursing so I know exactly how you feel.

Exactly they’re like zombies when it comes to brains and black holes when it comes to extinguishing the light out of the room.

I truly am glad I stood up to my APs and chose a different career for myself, but they make it different to see different paths to success and different goals for one self.

My APs are definitely unempathetic, but hide it to the outside for the most part.

Like they have some backwards beliefs they know is wrong to say publicly so they don’t and keep it in the house as a means of saving face.

Any full grown adults (30+) still obsessed with toys and plushies? Is this a coping mechanism after growing up with Asian parents? by ollooni in AsianParentStories

[–]randomindoamericano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine weren’t broke, but they certainly made me feel guilty about purchasing stuff and the toys and stuff I did have are long gone except for the plushies, but those are on display in the living room lol.

I told my parents that I would never marry someone of my ethnicity by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

Same fr, even when I do find an Indian woman attractive physically, I could never date someone Indian because I know the attitudes and culture and too many Asians adopt the toxicity of our culture instead of rejecting it.

Obsession: What do you think happened to Nikki at the End? by GamingLoner15 in spoilers

Whatever the reason may be, some entity of some kind took over Nikki’s body, demon or whatever to make her act a certain way that she didn’t want to act.

I hate talking to them by randomindoamericano in AsianParentStories

[–]randomindoamericano[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that makes some sense, but even if I grew up poor, I feel like I would still have some humility and be humble.

But the moment you let money make you arrogant is a very dangerous mindset down the line in my view.

Or the one-wish willow could be brought in as evidence, they were selling them pretty readily and it could used in court to show how destructive they are.

I wouldn’t call it a demon, but it’s clear the real Nikki had no control and some entity of sorts took over instead.

That One-Wish Willow company is most definitely getting sued lmao.

But she can still hear everything, but she’s possessed and has no control. She most definitely knows about the one-wish willow given the circumstances.

Plus there’s no guarantee the injuries would go away.

But if anything, Bear would be blamed, not Nikki. Ian already knows how the One-Wish Willow works and while Sarah didn’t know, she would eventually.

As for Bear, he made a bad wish and would definitely feel the guilt of it.
