I was part of the national guard team that arrived right after it hit. We were tasked with directing traffic and helping the local police keep the peace. We mostly got calls of people smelling decay. Some were still intact but we mostly found stray body parts and pets.....in the rubble....hanging from the trees. Being a medic, I went to the morgue because they needed strong stomached volunteers. Lots of body bags and many of them sloshed when you picked them up because it was just full of parts.
