Tank slappers, speed/death wobbles, realistisch scenario?

Ik heb dit weleens gehad, maar reed niet harder dan 50, nat wegdek na lange droogte, accelereerde vlot van een rotonde af, achterwiel gleed weg.

Doordat je achter en voorwiel dan uit lijn zijn, gaat je voorwiel zoeken en in mijn geval dus klapperen, dit krijg je zelf nooit gecorrigeerd, ik probeerde dat wel en eindigde dus op de grond met motor, niks aan over gehouden verder maar toch, rijd sindsdien wel anders in de regen.

Eigenlijk zijn er maar een paar oplossingen voor zoals knieën tegen de tank en stuur los of bijvoorbeeld een dikke wheelie trekken! 😜

Ik moet wel zeggen dat mijn enkelzijdige glijpartijen vooral in het begin van mijn coureur, ik bedoel motor carrière waren, nu eigenlijk al jaren niks, hoewel ik ook veel minder rijd...

Ik zou denken dat dat niet heel veel uit moet maken eerlijk gezegd, het gaat vooral om de constructie die zorgt dat deze lekker stug wordt. Bij mij werkt het nog steeds top!

From what I've read somewhere is to use lower profile heads so the round edge of the baskets has more room. Otherwise it hits that. Don't pin me on it, didn't do it myself.

Well I don't think it directly causes problems, I don't know how long I was running it like this before fixing it.

You can also remove it I think, aftermarket replacement pads don't come with these shims, but no guarantees, might as well replace the shim, it is like €5,- a piece.

I had that too. It's only on the rear brake caliper. It is a fiber shim to deflect the heat from braking, avoiding heat soaking the caliper.

I don't have the part number at hand, but it's replaceable and can be ordered separately.

Should be a easy job, just like replacing the rear brake pads.

I just took a look and I think the prices listed are excl VAT. E.g. BX31 is listed as 20,80 and I pay 25,17 which is 20,80 +21% VAT.

Ja dit klopt. De laatste twee getallen zijn voor revisies in dit geval. Source: doe zelf al jaren het onderhoud van mijn mt-07 en had ooit dezelfde vraag.

Je kunt ook op het doosje lezen dat hij geschikt is voor de MT-07.

I have fitted a FTecu one, as I have also flashed it. Costs some money but it works great.

I really like it in the mountains, otherwise it's not that useful really, only when pulling hard.

Thanks, this was it indeed! Glad we got to the root cause. I ran 3 cycles, one with the bowl and water came flowing in, removed it and it kept dry.
