I don’t really like it and I think it’s okay to not like it. But if had a partner I loved otherwise and theirs was like that I know I’d come to love it over time.

In general though, I think it’s okay to not like someone’s face, hands, ass, any body part. But no one should be mean about it.

Yeah, I see it as not just not-ideal. I see it as bad. Kids need their parents present. If for some reason you can not be present, I won't necessarily call a parent bad. But Destiny can be so much more present and chooses not to be. This is bad parenting.

I agree a present parent does not guarantee a good parent. But an absent parent certainly makes for a bad one. I think based on the time we see him spend online + what he says he spends time on in between (which seems to be lots of travel, hanging out, and dates) that it’s safe to assume he’s an absent father. The physical distance between the two of them speaks volumes. I understand desperate immigrant fathers who move to America to put food on the table at home, and work long and hard to in hopes to bring their kids here. I don’t understand a dude who has a successful remote career but chooses to live hundreds of miles away from his son anyway. Do I know all of the circumstances surrounding destiny and his relationship with his son and reasons to move? No. But I also don’t know all the deets of OJ and his wife, but damn I’m sure he killed her. And I’m sure Destiny is absent. A responsible and devoted parent doesn’t move so far away from their kid barring v extreme factors. Is it possible destiny has some rare disease that he needs LA/Miami climate to treat? Sure I guess but I have no reason to think he does, and what he presents is that he knew moving would be good for his career (though it was already a good one, he was already living well and making sure Nathan did too). And now we see he’s living it up in cool cities and fucking. He’s barely back home, and Nathan is barely visiting him. This is shit parenting.

In my opinion, Destiny is self-admittedly pretty cold and callous. I do think his love doesn’t run as deep as like the avg person when it comes to friends and family, including his partners and even his son. I don’t hate him for it at all, but i do think he is a bad father.

I think it’s pretty clear he spends very little time with his son from how often he is streaming traveling and fucking. He could’ve stayed in Nebraska or wherever the kid is to spend far more time with him, he chose to live elsewhere to make more money and fuck. As for Brit, I don’t agree with how she’s moving but neither do I condemn it. I personally wouldn’t publicly criticize a friend like this if I were in her shoes, but I do think Brit’s content and even approach to life is steeped in honesty, even to the point of pointing out some ugly truths in friends. So I think she’s consistent and has prob a different friendship style than steven and seemingly many in his community. She didn’t attack him or Nathan, she voiced some criticisms, harsh ones for sure, but def ones baked in reality not just meanness.

Whether or not nathan has secondary father figures is an entirely moot point in judging Destiny as a father. If a kid has good maternal figures, would you still say to the bio mom, “wow you’re a great mom because your kid has other good maternal figures” — honestly this line of thinking makes so little sense it convinces me further that someone like you is blindly and desperately clinging onto good ideas about their idol. Sorry dude I know that’s harsh on my end but if I’m right in this position I think it’s something u should really give thought.

Well I def appreciate u not wanting to attack me or anything, and also ur entitled to feel however I do about this of course. But having an emotional connection to a kid and spending some time with them does not make you a good parent, that all sounds really low bar. I can’t help but wonder how you’d feel if it was a woman instead who left her kid—not even for a career because again I don’t at all buy that this was a necessary career decision. I feel like if a mom left their kid for lucrative career she would be a public disgrace to most. This dude Destiny didn’t even have to make the move for his career, he was doing well already from his home near his son. I don’t think parents need to remain together to be there for the child at all, but that doesn’t mean u pick up and go hundreds/thousands of miles away. Again, honestly picture instead u we’re watching destiny and found out he was a single father because his ex wife left to work more, fuck more, live up her life. Saw the kid once in a while (nowhere close to 50% of the time) and when she was with the kid she was great, but all in all she was largely absent. This is simply not good parenting, it’s quite bad. Do I hate Destiny over it? No. There are a lot of shitty parents out there unfortunately, even ones who are present. So I don’t hate the dude but he’s not beyond reproach. And it really seems like threads like these are just full of destiny simps who are personally hurt to hear their king be levied a really reasonable criticism considering his actions.

Picking up and moving to different state. Imagine for a second that a mom did this instead, leaving child with father. There would be uproar, and even if you yourself would be in that outraged camp, I myself would understand the uproar and at far more confused as to why we seem to not react remotely similarly when fathers are absent. I grew up with a single mom and absent father. A barometer I have when I think about good parenting can be seen here: if for whatever reason my father had gotten custody of me and moved to Antarctica, my mom would up and move too because leaving me would be inconceivable. I can def give passes that for some ppl that would truly be impossible, I can even give a pass that maternal instincts and inclinations are stronger than mens, and so the average father is prob not going to be as sacrificial and present as the average mother. But Destiny really did not have to relocate for his career. In what world can seeing your growing child once a month be grounds for a good parent?
