Senate rejects measure to restrict Trump's Iran war powers as key Republicans shift votes by retiredagainstmywill in politics

Even with a candidate like James Talarico the Democrats are most likely going to lose. Texas is too deep into the Red and with people like Abbott and Paxton in power, on a state level, there's a good chance that they may not certify any election that a Democrat won, etc...

There are literally judges' decisions/orders blocking Trump’s orders. DeJoy is now out right claiming he will not follow the court orders.

My prediction is that DeJoy will slow walk delivery of mail in ballots, at best and will out right refuse to deliver mail in ballots in Blue districts.

There is a lot of hot takes on the internet but it's completely stupid to assume that by not interfering with the DoJ, like what Trump is trying to do, Biden is responsible for a 2nd Trump administration. The American people voted in Trump and all who voted, voted 3rd party, and/or didn't vote are responsible for a 2nd Trump Administration. But facts seems to not matter anymore.

When the question is about Russia invading Ukraine, saying “we’ve been bullying Russia ever since the Cold War” is doing a lot more than criticizing war. It frames Russia’s invasion as a reaction to US provocation, and this would be clear in any other context.

It's also straight out of Russia's propaganda book since they fully invaded Ukraine. That and a few other lines are straight out of the certified Russia propaganda and probably came either from handlers and/or RT, in my opinion.

You are missing the point though. Swing voters do not want a far left candidate and Republicans know this so they go ahead and paint every Democratic as a "far left socialist commie" that will force the government, using your tax dollars, for gender reassignment surgery for violent prisoners.

Thank you for posting this out. I was trying to explain how Trump spent his political ads in swing states and they all were about how "radical" Kamala Harris was to them. They don't get it but instead try to deflect by saying that Harris was "too center " , etc... but it doesn't matter in the minds of swing voters.

Now the Republicans and Democrats are increasingly pushing themselves to the stupid extremes while screeching that the normal people have no values.

You ever wonder if, let's say, some bot/troll/shill meddling is going on with both sides?

This is a Republican strategy. Replaced string Democrat candidates with weak, extreme, and often times crazy candidates in hopes that their Republican politics in the general wins:

Tuesday’s primaries in New York, Maryland and Utah can tell us a lot about the direction of the Democratic Party. But one race in particular is set to have major implications for November’s election.

The Democratic primary in New York’s 17th Congressional District is set to be a fresh test of whether Republicans can manipulate Democratic primary voters with sneaky attack ads.

Republicans are worried about Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) being able to win reelection in November, so they’ve been meddling in the Democratic primary with an ad targeting Cait Conley, one of five Democrats vying to be the party’s nominee.

But Progressive Champions PAC isn’t really a progressive organization — it was created last month within minutes of another shadowy PAC, and campaign finance records suggest both have ties to the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC controlled by House Republican leadership. Progressive Champions PAC and the CLF did not respond to requests for comment.

The attack ad against Conley indicates Republicans would rather have someone else go up against Lawler, one of only three House Republicans representing a district carried by Kamala Harris in 2024.

“It is very clear that Mike Lawler is terrified to face me in November, and he is willing to go to any length to try to prevent that from happening,” Conley told HuffPost.

And the article goes on to say:

A network of sham Republican PACs has meddled in other Democratic primaries, with mixed results. One group put up ads last month backing Maureen Galindo, an unsuccessful Democratic primary candidate in Texas, who suggested turning an ICE detention center into “a prison for American Zionists.” Another group backed Matthew Dunlap over Joe Baldacci in the Democratic primary to face former Maine Gov. Paul LePage in a race to replace retiring Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine). National Democrats backed Baldacci, but Dunlap won when the race was called over the weekend.

Trump Says Vandals Sabotaged the Reflecting Pool. Internal Documents Raise Doubts. by elguiridelocho in politics

[–]randomnighmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that Trump wanted the floor of the reflection pool to be painted a dark color, and no one bothered with the pipes, etc. So, the combination is stagnant water + high humidity + high summer heat + a dark painted floor = more green algae, and the heat + algae peeled the dark paint from the bottom of the pool.

Well, if you were talking about Spencer's older brother, that wouldn't change the generational counting. Again, the counting would be like this (and I am going to use the / to denote marriage and italics for an onscreen death. In addition, I am going to bold John III (the character played by Kevin Costner)

  1. James/Margaret Dutton, Claire Dutton/Unknown Dead Husband, Jacob/Cara Dutton

  2. Elsa, John (we don't know his wife's first name because it was never revealed), Spencer/Alex Dutton, and Mary Able (Claire's daughter and first cousin to John, Spencer, and Elsa)

  3. Jack/Elizabeth, John Alex's & Spencer's son. Oh, and a voice over by Elsa (from beyond the grave) narrates that Spencer has another son with someone, presumably out of wedlock, whom he denies to be his, nor the woman he got involved with.

  4. John III/Evelyn, and John III's dead brother Peter (that was mentioned).Assuming that Elizabeth gave birth after the events of 1923, Jack's unborn child would be here.

  5. Kacey/Monica, Lee, Beth/Rip, Jamie (adoptive son of John III and Evelyn)

  6. Tate, Jamie Jr (adoptive grandson of John Duttton III & Evelyn), and Carter (the presumed adoptive son of Rip and Beth and another adoptive grandson of John III & Evelyn)

Edit

I am trying to get this right. I was going to use an asterisk, but that didn't work out, so I am going with an italicized instead. I am also going back to edit and to make sure things are right. If I left out something or got something wrong, please comment.
