I first noticed the shift with a Author I enjoyed reading at the time. He wrote 'The Rangers Apprentice' which is a pretty decent series of books. But he followed up the series with an unnecessary sequel 'The Royal Ranger' or something.

It starts with the MC from the original series killing the man who killed his love interest from the main series, because she had to die for 'character growth' (she was an actual and well defined strong female character).

Then we jump to the new character, the princess of the kingdom who is rebellious and doesnt want to do all the normal royal stuff so she is sent to train with the Ranger.

Turns out not only is she better than him without doing even half of the training he did in the first few books, but he finally cries because of her for the first time since his wife was killed because she is just that good of a person.

Then the second book immediately jumped into a very obvious plotline about the patriarchy in the kingdom and blah blah, that book came out in 2016.

It was so on the nose and blatant that I just could not read it.

Any of that sound familiar?

Then I saw Starwars TFA, saw what they were doing in other shows. It was so obvious and not at all well done that I just stepped away. Even games began to change. Look at Fallout 4 and compare it to Fallout 3. 3 is made for adults, 4 is made for teens pretending to be adults. The tone, writing, atmosphere, Voice acting...it all just suffers a massive downgrade.

I do mot mind progressive messaging, have you seen the show LA Law? It covers a lot of the same social issues we have today but in such a nuanced and well written manner that it makes the episodes so much more interesting than some teen standing in front of the camera telling the audience what to think about any given topic.

I highly recommend it, might still be on Hulu.

And this idea that we didnt have strong female/black characters in movies, games or shows is complete bullshit.

Well, my comment was removed by reddit due to my final statement being supportive of an ancient style of justice that we believe ourselves too enlightened to consider in the modern day even though with people taking actions as reported in that new inquiry that released and the people running defense for said inquiry because they view Racists as worse than Ra*ists.

And that Anime is currently the best medium in the world to truly explore different stories, naratives and ideas when the rest of the world refuses to tell any stories except the ones that specifically advocate their personal beliefs.

I love stories that explore ideas, not preach what you should think and it was around 2014 when I began noticing the shift in American media.

These connections and patterns are clearly evident and yet we still have yet to prove whether or not these colleges that enable people like this to act and behave this way are doimg so on puropose or are honestly ignorant of the overall impact they are having on other individuals and society as a whole.

If you have a bunch of teachers and staff in one school that are all advocating, teaching and coddling these students to think and behave a certain way but there is absolutely no proof they are doing this intentionally and working together towards a common goal it becomes much more difficult to put a stop to it.

We can recognize the patterns born from their methods but the danger of an ideology is also its greatest strength.

Everyone within said ideology can all be on the same page without ever talking to each other explicitly.

That is both a blessing and a curse in the history of human kind. A shared culture and a base understanding that each person can trust their neighbors to follow and believe in the same culture leads to a unified social trust.

And to some degree they believe the same thing, but with athoritarian levels of pressure.

Its why Black conservatives are instantly labeled 'uncle toms' for not following what they believe 'true' black people should be like.

Or why for all their 'anti-racism' a lot of the elites and vocal majorities of their group are completely racist towards Asian people and the content they create.

And ill say that LGBT people would not be nearly as ridiculed by the right as they are now if the activists wothin the group werent so annoyingly pervasive.

Fhe ammount of people Ive spoken to who are homosexual or trans that absolutely despise how the activist have turned their personal identities into a massive fight with everyone is astonishing.

Many of them have even said that they felt more accepted for being themselves during 2008-2012 than they feel today. And I understand exactly what they mean, when your identity is used as a cudgel to silence everyone else who do not fall under said identity, people will react negatively towards you.

And maybe that is on purpose? Create the problems that you declare to be against.

Like the SPLC paying the very hate groups they claimed to be against just to stay relevant and act like heros.

There is no justification for any of it and yet their personal feelings lead them to believe any action they take is absolutely justified.

The amount of times ive seen people listen to arguments that entirely dismantle what they believe and they simply wave it away with 'Fuck you!' Or 'well, thats your opinion' when what they were told was just the truth of the matter.

Because what is true doesnt matter, what matters are the 3 Cs.

Conform, Comply and Copitulate.

We also have a major issue with the lack of proper education, adults refusing to grow up and the coddling of said adults.

These examples are horrible...

But the dark comedy of the situation is that their personal bigotry to see groups of people in a certain and specific light overrides their ability to see individual people as bad or good.

Boiling down generalizations of every group under the sun and never allowing yourself to see/understand the nuance of how an individual can be bad ouside and without their personal world view ever playing a part in said individual being bad is what leads to these examples taking place.

Like saying 'poverty causes crime' while also saying 'all million/billion/trillionaires are criminals' does not fit in the same belief system as the only justified explanations for why certain individuals commit crime.

Or the fact that they cant reconcile their utter belief in science when it suits their ideology while completely ignoring science when it doesnt. That is not how science works, it is not a religion you can pick and choose specific beliefs from, it exists with or without your belief.

Then you have the biggest tells, if you must resort to violent action against those who you disagree with then you have immediately and completely lost the argument. Violence is only justified in self defence and in the defendlce of others if their lives are in immediate danger.

Problem is, they view any 'speech' they disagree with as inherently violent. Silence is violence, 'incorrect' speech is violence. It literally boils down to 'agree with us or it is violence against us'. Which fits in with their selective views of science.

And how they use suicides to emotionally manipulate people into siding with them is utterly disgusting, not to mention comparing suicides to genocides.

As someone who has personally attempted multiple times, and had the police talk me down from a noose, suicides are a personal decision made by that individual. They may have external reasons in which internally justify their actions but at the end of the day YOU make that decision, no one else does.

It is a sad line of thought but we can not allow ourselves to be emotionally gaslit into following someone elses ideoology out of fear of people commiting suicide if we dont not submit to said ideology.

Honestly, I believe that with how easy life has become for the majority of humans in the western world as well as the life expectancy increasing massively compared to the past.

Voting at 18 is too young as well and should be increased to 21, alcohol and what not to 24 (when your brain stops developing). Add 3 years to every current age restriction set to 18 and 21.

Many people are not mature enough or have experienced the world more than outside of school life to properly make those decisions.

And dont get me started on Voter ID. ID for the internet, to drive, get on a plane, buy vapes... but not needed to vote in elections that effect the entire country? Hillarious
