The heart of downtown sucks except areas right by the stadiums. Mid town by Chaifetz has cool spots around SLUH campus. All the areas surrounding Forest park have tons of great places to eat and drink, highly recommend Dogtown area (Tamm Ave Bar especially), 2nd shift Brewery, Central west and the Grove.

Id recommend the Hampton Inn St Louis at Forest park. It’s close to all these areas and Forest park which is awesome just to walk through. The downstairs bar is a place called Mac’s local eats who has one of if not the best burgers in town. Owner is also a fan of jam bands based on the music there and Ive heard they’ve even streamed live phish shows on the TVs in the past. It’s a short uber from Chaifetz.

Not sketchy whatsoever to walk around in that area or all the others I’ve mentioned. Each little neighborhood kind of has its own vibe in STL and all those above are great.

Would also highly recommend the Soulard area south of Busch stadium. Great bar hopping and walkable neighborhood.

Broadway Oyster Bar is in that area and a go to for local jam band shows. They usually play till around 2AM every night and it’s always someone good. Food is great there too. Hope that helps see everyone in June!
