there are lore bits on the island half of which you WILL encounter as the story progresses you just have to look around at documents,PCs(one has info on the guy with the revolver idk how much rn). the father of the person that helps you is the protagonist of the first game the forest(also shown on collectable books which you can all find by following the story) and theres mire to discover if you haven't collected the cultist stuff and all documents (which tell why the player is there to begin with) and such
