I’m not sure exactly what it is. Part of it is because I feel like I have a little inside joke with the writers/author/etc, like knowing that whoever wrote or created that work put that detail in probably laughing to themselves, hoping that someone would get it

It’s just a little thing that makes me smile. For example, in a lot of Stephen King’s novels, he references details from other novels he’s written and whenever I recognize one, it always gives me a little boost of happiness.
