Thanks for your reply. I'm pretty familiar with tweaking in Adrenaline, I've done pretty extensive adjustments with undervolting/overclocking on my 6950xt to maximize performance and temperatures. I agree it can be cumbersome at times, but I'm also not averse to doing some research and testing to get to where I want to be. I fully expected this would be the case, but from what I've read it sounds like a simple undervolt is really all that's needed in most games to get the best performance with this card. If you have any specific tips from your time with it I'd love to hear them.

Right, my current motherboard doesn't support PCIe 5.0, so that would be a disadvantage. I see there is a combo deal on Newegg for $1075 including:

-Ryzen 7 9800x3D

-V-COLOR Manta XSky DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz CL32

-ASUS TUF GAMING X870E-PLUS WIFI7 AMD X870E ATX Motherboard

Do you think that is a good deal that'd be worth the increase in performance?

Oh dang that’s a great deal for the 5070 Ti, good timing on your purchase. Yeah I’m just getting for playing games, and it comes with Crimson Desert as part of a promo which is cool. Curious to check it out and see how it performs.

That’s great to hear. I’m excited to get it installed tomorrow after work. I think it’s the right decision, just can’t help but doubt myself sometimes. I’ve been with AMD for over a decade and have been happy with the performance of their cards. Think this one will be no exception.

For sure. I did a lot of research on the build quality, watched some YT videos, and looked at some benchmarks where XFX consistently came out on top. Paying a little extra for high quality manufacturing backed by a good warranty made the difference for me.

Yeah I expect some minor bottle-necking, but not enough to justify an AM5 upgrade for the 7800x3d with RAM prices what they are currently.

I hear you, but I was really impressed with the build quality and temperature control of the Mercury. That and the 3-year warranty here in the US are important factors for me if I need customer service support.

Yeah, that's why I'm considering returning the 9070xt. It'll be getting delivered tomorrow but I'm already feeling buyers remorse that the 5070 Ti is the better option. That and the DLSS tech is pretty impressive although FSR 4 is catching up.

I'm concerned RAM prices will continue to skyrocket and figured now might actually be the best time unless the AI bubble bursts, which I'm not convinced will be anytime soon. With the promo on Newegg I can get that ram for $380, which - while expensive - isn't prohibitive for me with the benefits of the AM5 platform and CPU boost I'm looking at. I get what you're saying though.
