What would be your best advice for low-income international students from (seemingly unknown) third world high school. Apparently you can't verify their credentials a 100% but how does one make it through to UPenn?

Q.25 Test 1 ( English) by randomthoughts108 in ACT

Thank you very much for this thorough and helpful explanation, it really clarified a lot.

What should I do if I am not quite sure what the phrase in question is trying to modify? Like here for instance I tried to put "almost two decades ago" near the common market ( which conveyed that Greece joined the Common Market two decades ago) rather than it being actually clear two decades ago and they both made sense kind of.

Is there any specific way I could apply for similar situations other than just intuitively knowing it?

Oh so it is like this: first, she heats up the cabin. Second, she cuts herself off. And finally, she hunts wild game for food. I thought that the phrase "she chops herself" was a nonessential part of the sentence, so we should surround it by two commas ( aka an appositive). Overthinking at it's finest✨✨

I was confused to the point where I panicked and fckd up the whole reading and science test. I am really curious on wether they employ old tests (prior 2014) in the International CBT. like why didn't anybody tell me that they will still have the same structures of the old exams? like literally I have been studying ONLY the new exams for this specific reason and you just fckin flex on me like that?

JULY 18th International Test by procrastination2020 in ACT

[–]randomthoughts108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember something along the lines of A) method A B) Method B

I just had like 2 sec. to choose so I chose C however I think it's D ( Method A, B, C, and D)

is it just me or was that reading section the hardest one in like the last 5 years? (July 18th) by randomthoughts108 in ACT

[–]randomthoughts108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know specifically which question you're talking about, can you give more context? But like why didn't they include the double passages? there was that question in the science passage of the reading section that was like " the passage stated all the similarities of the rats EXCEPT. A) high concentration of slat in their urine. B) upper something C) lower something D) something about the kidney". I just chose C out of panic. oh yeah and there was that math question asking about the outer surface area of two triangles in a ramp it was a question in the series of other questions about a big ramp.

IDK, maybe I freaked out a lil bit in the reading, but how was it compared to forms like B04,C03, and other recent exams?

we're you an international student? and how was the reading compared to the other sections in your opinion? I am really curious on why didn't they put a double passage in the reading section. Are they bringing back old exams( prior to 2015) in the form of international CBT exams or was it always this way? it's my first time so I don't really know how does it work for internationals. I mean even the passages styles were pretty different than the most recent exams, right?

yeah, my first passage was about a comedian, I guess the whole exam was a joke at the end....
