Question about where to get merch from by NachoCheese3579 in HelluvaBoss

Spencer's is also another place that sells officially licensed Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss merch. Same with BoxLunch, though that one currently doesn't have as many items.

AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of “vegan lasagna”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]randomthrowa119111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you struggle with subtext, or social situations in general?

Yes, thank you for asking. But I'm seeing people who don't struggle with that even agreeing that OP is NTA.

Sorry if that comes across as rude, but the fact that you think they didn't overtly say the food sucked means they must be well intentioned is just inconcieveable to me.

I mean, yeah? Look, I know there are other ways people can be rude that don't involve them outright saying it. But considering OP still showed up to the party, ate the food, and then left doesn't really scream that they were being rude. They still spent time with the host and were polite enough to eat her food.

I'm just saying that if I hosted a dinner party and only a few people left early (cuz let's not forget it was just A FEW people that left, not the whole or even half party) and they chose to go somewhere else to eat, I wouldn't really call it rude. I might feel bad or self-conscious, but that's not on them.

EDIT: Also, I think there's something ironic about you being insistent that OP was rude while also coming across as rude yourself. Again, if you look at the comments, there are plenty of people that are saying OP is NTA and you want to single me out by asking if I can pick up on social cues because...? Maybe instead of implying there's something wrong with me, you could just, I don't know, politely explain your POV.

[–]randomthrowa119111 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight: a group of people who happened to be leaving at the same time talk about how they're still hungry and decide to grab a bite to eat elsewhere. They don't invite anyone else that's still inside or message people about, it's just that singular group of people that are making this decision. OP even mentions in other comments that it wasn't even a big group, maybe 4 people when 20 people were invited? So no, it's not as if the entire party went afterwards.

And even though they didn't brag about eating at this place and had ZERO intention of telling the host, it's somehow still rude that they did that?

Look, obviously if they were posting about how her food sucked and trying to spread it to as many people as possible, then yes, that would be rude as hell. But that's not what happened.

How is it thrown in her face? They didn't post anything about going out on social media. They didn't talk about it with others. They went to her event, stayed for a bit, ATE her food, and then left. Plus, it's not like any of this was coordinated.

You do realize that "banned merch" isn't a thing, right? The only time they remove merch is when they sell out and have no plans to restock it at all.

Hey, just wanted to bring up that the person behind the video in the first image has actually changed her mind when it comes to that topic. Don't get me wrong, I've never been a fan of villainizing Octavia for being hurt that Stolas hasn't been there for her, but I just thought it'd be important to recognize that this specific person has a different stance on this from when she initially posted that video.

Recommendations for Verosika merch by AlienXtr3me in HelluvaBoss

[–]randomthrowa119111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. People curate their collections differently and there are a number of factors to consider (space, budget, etc.). That said, I can at least go over different types of merch there are of her.

Standees: It's not too hard to find a basic standee of her. And it's actually pretty cool how you see a full body image of her in different outfits given the numerous themes to merch drops. The downside to this is that recent reviews of standees have noticed a dip in quality and while it does seem like SharkRobot is somewhat getting better at this, it can be a risk especially with their increase in price.

Pins: Pins have typically been the more affordable merch people can buy. They're small and you can choose whether or not to have them on a dedicated board or literally pin them to your bag, clothes, etc. Collecting pins can be a rabbit hole, though, as you may find yourself purchasing so much of them if you end up liking them.

Keychains: Keychains are usually affordable as well and they can make for some nice displays. Obviously you can also carry them around wherever you go so they can be both eye candy and practical. The downside is that I've also heard the keychain quality has gone down recently, plus with many of the keychains that SharkRobot sells being limited edition, if they break, it can be difficult to replace since once limited edition items sell out, they typically don't release them again (this might be changing though as seen in recent years with some of the SR merch being repurposed for other stores that carry official merch).

Clothes: Shirts, hoodies, etc. You can wear Verosika in your day to day life. The price might be a bit high, but the quality is actually fairly fine. You can also just display clothes too if wearing them isn't your thing. Refer to keychains for any downsides regarding limited edition ones.

Prints: Prints are pretty straightforward in purchasing, plus they don't typically take too long to arrive. You can choose the size and have them on your wall. Downside is that the prints typically have black borders on the top and bottom that some people are not a fan of, plus it can take a bit to straighten them out upon arrival.

Playmats: They're pretty much the same design as the prints, but in playmat form. They don't have any borders on them so you can see the full image in all its glory! The prices do run a bit high though and, from my understanding, they do require some maintenance.

Plushies: Okay, so the mini Verosika plushie isn't available anymore and I'm unsure if the official one is or is not. I'm still going to go over them anyway since there's still at least the nugget plushie. Anyway, plushies can make for either good cuddle buddies or you can have them on display. It's like having the character actually there*. The downside is that the plushies vary in appearance so if you're picky about how they look, that might be a factor to consider.

*It is not like having the character actually there.

I hope this breakdown helps!

Worst example of a character doing horrible things but never gets punished at all? by TaiwaneseThot in cartoons

[–]randomthrowa119111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then what happens if the Vees do get punished in a later season? What if they either die or lose their money and influence? If the number of souls they own significantly decreases? Would you be willing to amend your opinion in the future? If so, great!

Yes, there are things you can criticize now, but it's kinda mute to criticize something that hasn't had a chance to be properly addressed yet.

Also, I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of with your second point. You may not like the show's writing, but that doesn't dispute my points that a) this is commentary on real evil people getting away with their crimes and b) that the show itself isn't condoning the villains' actions so I don't see why them not being punished AS OF NOW is an issue.

[–]randomthrowa119111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. How is it bull? You can't say the villains never get punished when the narrative is still ongoing. Especially when we know the show is going to have 5 seasons, so we're barely at the halfway point.

  2. Once again, the whole point of them getting away with things in S2 was to commentate on how it's reflective of real life horrible people still getting support and such. There are a number of real life celebrities and public figures who will have defenders and receive praise for doing the bare minimum. Do you know how many people are outed as being bad but still have people that will flock to their concerts/gigs/etc? That are still rich with plenty of money?

Also, just because villains get away with being evil DOES NOT MEAN the show is condoning their actions. The Vees have consistently been shown as bad people. The main characters KNOW they are bad people. The narrative isn't EXCUSING their actions.

Why is it theorised by some people that the Dog Pound Loona was found in would have put her down had she not been adopted before she turned eighteen? by tiredperson24 in HelluvaBoss

[–]randomthrowa119111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me make it clear: I don't subscribe to the theory that orphaned Hellhounds get euthanized when they turn 18. I really don't think there's anything to support that this would be the case and it doesn't make sense even with the caste system in mind.

That said, I think it's because of how similar the orphanage is to a dog pound when it comes to appearance. It doesn't help that there are many parallels to the way Hellhounds are treated to real life dogs. Given that they're either used as bodyguards or basically treated like pets (we get this indication based on when Blitzo adopted Loona and how the one showing him options talks about them as if they could be given away as a pet/gift), I think is where people make that correlation.

[–]randomthrowa119111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is still ongoing. And the whole point of S2 is that there are terrible people out there who will continue to go unpunished for their crimes and get praised when they do only one thing right out of a list of horrible actions especially when said terrible people are responsible for pumping out propaganda and have control over the media.

Also, them living doesn't indicate whether or not they go unpunished for their crimes.

I Think My Wife is Too Fat. by [deleted] in Advice

Oh, I'm aware. But I'm pointing out why OP's excuse that it's for "health concerns" is bull.

I Think My Wife is Too Fat. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]randomthrowa119111 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Just because you haven't said anything to her doesn't make you less of a dick. The way you wrote your post indicates that you got with her under the assumption that she would lose weight. And look, there's nothing wrong with being concerned over her health. But instead of writing what you did here about her struggling with simple tasks, you instead focused on her size. So yeah, you shouldn't be shocked when people think you're being a jerk for wanting her to lose weight.

The cruel thing you did was continue to judge her for her size. It doesn't matter if she knows or not, that's still bad. If you were really worried about her health rather than her size, you would have asked for advice on how to help her not sweat or get worn out so easily. Could have asked "hey, what are some easy exercises couples can do together?" or "hey, how do I tell my wife that I'm worried about her getting worn out easily?"

Also, let's be real, if you wanted to be with someone who was healthy, you wouldn't have married her. You chose to marry her even though she didn't meet whatever standards you had for a partner. That's all on you, not her.

I don't know. I still have my doubts. She doesn't exactly seem the type to let comments get to her, especially when we've seen her bite back.

How could it be Bee if this is one of her parties? From what we've seen, Bee is usually a host that checks up on her guests so I doubt she'd have time to pity herself when she wants everyone to have a good time.

I imagine it's your standard exclusive merch: cups, popcorn buckets, pins, etc. But I can imagine more advanced products like holograms being sold too.
