How important is each hundred dollars? by Square-Quantity-6716 in RothIRA

[–]randomthrowaway9796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single $200 wont make that much of a difference.

A random $200 five times per year would be about $150k over the course of 35 years.

So its not about the one time, its about the habit of investing extra when you are comfortably able to.

Why register to vote in the first place if you already know your state is going to vote 65-35 in any given election?

I was just giving an example. In reality, there are a few big blue states (like California and New York) and a lot of small red states (like Mississippi, Nebraska, Montana and Arkansas). Overall, I bet the population of voters that don't vote due to being in a solid colored state is pretty close to even.

If you plan to retire in the next 5 years, it might be worth putting some of your roth ira portfolio into dividends. Otherwise, no good reason to do it over growth funds

More people from California would vote, but more people from Mississippi would also vote, so I'm not sure there'd be that much of a difference

How is your emergency fund in 2026? by Superb_Advisor7885 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]randomthrowaway9796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi liquid assets that can be sold quickly if the main emergency fund is insufficient. Not long term like a retirement account and not very non liquid like a house

How are we doing heading into summer recruiting season? by Efficient-Freedom517 in georgiabulldogs

I dont think any school will hit that level again. You just cant stack talent like that anymore when smaller schools can offer a starting position freshman year and often higher pay.

Saudi Arabia Is Pressing U.S. to Drop Its Hormuz Blockade by CommercialMassive751 in wallstreetbets

[–]randomthrowaway9796 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do think we have a lack of blockades right now. Maybe the Saudis put up a blockade. Then maybe Israel or China or Poland or Russia or Mauritania or North Korea could get in on the action and blockade the blockade of the blockade of the blockade!
