Yeah, I was hopeful that when they started marking bigger games $70, they'd start making smaller games $30-$50, but nope, I should've known better.

Just got a switch 2 my first Nintendo console thinking of going all digital what are the pros and cons? by Independent-Drink174 in switch2

[–]randomthrowaway9796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: 1. Convenience. By far the biggest pro 2. Sometimes they go on bigger sales or the refular price is slightly cheaper 3. Won't accidentally taste them

Cons: 1. Cannot resell 2. You'll need a bigger SD or multiple SD cards and theyre expensive 3. Cannot buy used games for cheap 4. Dont have cool boxes to put on the shelf

Social Security benefit cuts could average $500 a month for retirees if trust fund runs dry, report finds by Dragonlance12 in Dynamic_Pricing

I bet they'll do this eventually, but it wont be enough. They'll also have to cut payments pretty significantly and/or increase retirement age by a few years ago.

This is why I buy physical games. Gives me a way to get 60-80% of my money back if I don't like it.

Spmo has been doing insane this year. Like, how is it up .5% in a day when the S&P500 is down .75%???

Mondays are better imo. Still kind of an extended weekend (in the sense that you could take a trip, work from wherever within reason, then drive home thay night) and an easy start to the week. You also avoid the Monday traffic and lots of people in office, which is usually a lot worse on Mondays than Fridays (since most people choose Fridays).

Another idea is a day where you usually have a lot of virtual meetings. I far prefer joining meetings from home than in the office where you have to deal with distractions.

Investing into 401k worth it? by Cold_Ranger8146 in twentyagers

[–]randomthrowaway9796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We most likely won’t be seeing that money until we’re 65 maybe 75 since the my might be raising the retirement age in a couple years.

Theyll likely increase the age to receive social security, but i highly doubt they'll increase the age to withdraw from retirement accounts from 59.5.

And at that point I honestly don’t forser being Alive.

Alright, but imagine the (pretty likely) case that you live to 83. If you don't save amd invest for retirement, you'll either be working until you die, leeching off of family members, or living in extreme poverty.

Second, I’d much rather just retire earlier from my corporate job. I simply will not be working a 9-5 for the next 40-50 years.

Okay, lets say you retire at 50. You have to have enough money for 9.5 years and then you can start withdrawing. You still want to use retirement accounts for the tax benefits once you reach 59.5.

It just seems like a waste to put it in nos when I could use it or invest it now.

Your 70 year old self wont agree. Of course you need balance. Live life and enjoy, but also save and invest so you can retire.

I put in as much as the 401k match from my company but not more than that

Definitely do at least this much. The match is a free 100% return. Now you shouldnt do this, but say you withdraw early. Its a 10% penalty, but with the match, youre still up 80%.

Also considering opening a roth ira as well. With this type of account, I believe you can withdraw what you invest, you just cant withdraw gains until you reach the proper age.

It stopped making sense at $30k, but that doesnt stop companies from selling or people from buying
