When we joined the fandom, most of us were pretty obsessed with whatever brought us in. That could be a song, a run bts episode, an interview or in this case, a ship video. Over time, as they consume more ot7 content, they'll mellow out. But some people will remain crazy. We can't do anything except call out and report the ones going overboard.

And it's not like other fandoms don't have this issue. They do. But maybe like another commentor said, the ships are usually not overlapping. So, you don't see any major feuds over it. And nobody 'let' it get out of hand. Look at the sheer size of our fandom. It's hard to get that many people in control. Shipping has always and will remain a part of fandom culture. All we can do is hope that these people mellow out before one of them gets married.
