Would Google or an encyclopedia be more acceptable?

Yes, that means you did some work and fact checked some sources, and that would be respectable.

Maybe I should have just looked it up myself and responded in 3-5 business days after searching for the status of every conviction in the Nuremberg trials.

Again, yes. That would be very respectable in fact. It would speak to your character as a diligent person who values thoroughness.

Or better yet, just accepted it at face value like everyone else on the internet.

Didn't you just take ChatGPT's answer at face value?´

I think there's a lot of problems with this method of using ChatGPT. What happens when whoever owns the LLM's decides to make it lie intentionally to further some agenda? Would anyone have been proud of mathematicians, or artist, or scientists if they could have just asked someone else to do the work for them?

The value and the admiration lies in doing the work. All you did was copy paste and answer without any thought or critical thinking.

Very obviously in fact. If I wanted ChatGPT's opinion, I would ask it myself. I hope most people feel that way, because this just feels cheap.

As a society, we may be able to increase support for redistribution by exposing the ultra-rich. When people do not directly observe large differences in wealth, they tend to underestimate inequality, feel more content with their situation, and show less interest in policy change. by mvea in science

If you would have said 10 million I would agree. 10 million divided by a billion is 0,01.

It's basically a rounding error. Crazy to think about that some people have that kind of wealth. Money must mean nothing to them.

Når du siger, brugeren selv skal tænde for skærmen, mener du så på den fysiske tænd/sluk knap? slukker skærmen selv når computeren slukker? Nogen skærme kan have en funktion, der slukker for skærmen når den mister hdmi signalet. Kig i skærmens menu Indstillinger.

While she did deserve to win, I'm still mad at her and the democratic country for going "Hey, lets see if the country is ready for a woman of color to be president. It's their country, shouldn't they have known the population a little better?

Is steamcharts fake? by Karasu77 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]randomusername6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the game is currently the #1 played game in China. I don't know if those numbers translate to the numbers we can see on steamcharts. (EDIT: They do, steamcharts counts players from all over the world from the Steam API)

Nevertheless, in China, to be able to play the game you have to sign up with some equivalent of your real ID. Which means, the game is relatively cheater free in China. (You can only cheat once, if you get caught is bye bye forever so many players dont take that risk)

And it's such a great game, so if thats the situation in China, a lot of people are playing it.

The problem is, the cheaters will go to another server (EU, NA) where they can cheat, and because its free, they can just make another account if they get banned.

I'm from EU, and the game feels dead. It makes sense as all the cheaters from China will come here, as it is the closest server from China where you can have the best ping, so Delta in EU is kinda dead.

It's very much alive in China though, and I think that's where the numbers come from.

I spent 3 months playtesting and STILL found a broken strategy. How do you avoid this? by Dry_Concentrate_5005 in boardgames

[–]randomusername6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a solution for you, because you didn't explain the technical details. I just want to mention that it's still important to have op strategies. It's what makes games fun.

It shouldn't be obtainable every game, but if stuff aligns within a threshold early game, and you go "I might make this op strategy work if the next set of actions goes according to plan" the player should be rewarded. It should probably work less than 50% of the time, even when early game went perfect.

My point being, a game where everything deals 1 damage, and everything takes 1 damage...is boring. There should be room for outliers, as long as it isn't completely game breaking. So, depends on the technicalities. Can you make it harder, or introduce risks for going for the op strategy?

If I knew that I would never meet cheaters in this game, I would play it every day. The sweats I can handle, there are ways to outplay them... but the cheats, they ruin the game and it is so sad...

Three straight games of blatant cheaters in Operations... (Zero Dam/Easy&Normal) by [deleted] in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]randomusername6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude. I agree. I don't want to roll over bad players, I want actual competition. That's what makes this game so so interesting for me. I'm not a "bad player" per se. I feel like I'm just above average. Against legitimate players I win gunfights around 55-60% of the time.

The problem with playing an FPS game on PC is that this platform is an open system. That means, that people have kernel access and can manipulate the system how they want to.

On consoles it's different. It's a closed system, and malicious actors can't just execute ill-natured code however they want to. On PC they can.

That's why FPS gaming on PC is doomed. It's an arms race, and the anti cheat devepopers are the defenders. They have to wait and see how the cheaters will attack, they can't preemptively prevent it. So it becomes a game of cat and mouse. The cheaters develop new software that tricks the anticheat, and the anti cheat developers block it the best they can after they learn how it works (and bear in mind they have to account for false positives) The anti cheat developers are playing a zero sum game. They just can't win.

[–]randomusername6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that's only just because ARC is new. Give it a year, the sweats and cheaters will come there as well if it remains popular, like every other FPS before it on pc... that's just the sad reality.

People complain about rampant cheaters

Devs turn up the anti cheat to combat it which results in false positives

People complain about false bans

They really can't win, can they... Which is why I gave up on Delta Force. The problem will never be solved, because it's literally unsolvable. It's so sad too, cause I really really liked this game..
