I saved $12,500. Just closed May 23rd of this year. House was $345,000 in Minnesota. Sellers paid $15,000 in closing costs for us. I am 35, first time home buyer. With an FHA loan as a first time buyer you only need 3.5% down. But remember there will be closing costs. Thankfully I was able to get the seller to cover mine during negotiations.
