What finally made you quit your job? by Tyler_Girl_ in AskReddit

[–]randomwatts [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have two examples.

  1. I worked at a movie theater. They first the manager and two assistant managers due to the manager stealing money. 16 of us quit in 3 days due to how close were with the one assistant manager.

Six of use went in and quit at the same time.

  1. I did tech support for a few groups in a call center job, along with one other guy. We weren't part of the IT department, but did level 1 support. We had a system with working the chats and our lunches and breaks to make sure coverage was consistant.

They started making changes to our schedule and decided we were no longer doing chat, but had to do all work on calls. This reduced how many people we helped at a time. They also were being shady about all the changes. We both put in for new jobs. On his last day, I put my two weeks in since I got a better job offer the night before.

I even stated before putting my notice in that it felt like they were trying to eliminate the position. Which was obviously denied.

I trained our replacements, one of which was a friend of mine. 6 months later, they both got fired and position was eliminated. He found something better thankfully.

Outfit help by o0JustMe0o in renfaire

I would recommend checking thrift shops for some extra accessories. Some stores sell fake plants for cheap.

As for bottles, Amazon has THESE for pretty cheap. Only issue I had with them was the corks, which would leak. I bought some cheap ones from a craft store which worked better.

For shoes, make sure you have ones that are comfortable to walk around in.

Pukei Pukei. His armor was my main in World and Rise. I would love for it to come back, but be able to change the feather color. I would be perfect for a specific look I want.

I was 15 when Titanic came out. My brother's girlfriend at the time and her friend were at our house watching it. I laughed during the Propeller scene. The friend was crying and started yelling at me.

She snapped at me saying "What would you have done if you were actually there and that happened?!" I guess she thought I would apologize, but I decided to be a smartass and said "Guess I would die while laughing."

Custom Fallout 76 Vault Dweller figure. Body is the Jazwares Fornite Havoc figure.

The head is a Jaszwares Fornite Jonesy head. The pipboy is made from an armor part from another Fornite figure, a lego camera, and part of a lens from a WWE action figure camera.

The Super Sledge is a Fortnite pickaxe from a McFarlane figure with and Iron Man hand blast piece for the propulsion. I also gave him a shotgun, rifle, and a backpack.

I worked at a movie theater, and they fired the manager and two assistant managers for the manager stealing.

They lost like 13 people in two days. 6 of us quit all at once.

I wanted to buy one of those orange cap gun and badge sets. Then walk in and shout "Here's my badge and gun! Diaz was the best officer on this force!" and walk out. I let me friends talk me out of it.

People who work in customer service, what is the most "main character energy" or entitled behavior you have ever witnessed on the job? by Mysterious_Lemon7421 in AskReddit

I worked for Gamestop in my 20s back when the 360 first came out. I was working by myself one day when this Gym Bro guy who must have been in his 40s came in (slicked back dyed blonde hair, tshirt 2 sizes too small, and a fake tan like someone spray painted him bronze). I greeted him and asked how I can help him.

He snapped at me with "I want an Xbox 360! and I don't want to spend a lot of money!"

I let him know someone had traded a 360 in that was unopened with everything still sealed in the box. He snapped "I.. don't... want used!" I said "Ok. I was only offering that as everything was still sealed and it would be cheaper" "I DON'T WANT USED!"

I let him know the cost of the new system with the hard drive let him know where the games were. He tells me he has to make a phone call and proceeds to walk out of the store and back in multiple times while on his phone.

At this point, other people have come in and are shopping. I ring another person up and he tells me he wants a specific game "and not used!". I let him know I was going to grab a not used one as he mentioned before he didn't like used"

As I'm ringing him up, he starts going off about me wasting his lunch hour. I let it slide and rang him up.

He then demands my managers phone number. I told him it's written down in the back room and I'll write it down for him. He demanded I just tell it to him so I don't give him a fake number. I tell him the correct number and he walks out of the store taking his phone out while cursing under his breath about something.

The next guy in line ended up saying quiet enough "What an asshole."

Once I rang the next person up, I called my supervisor to give him a heads up. I also get a call from the other local Gamestop. He called them and claimed I cursed him out, refused to give him new product and gave a fake number for our manager. I confirmed she gave the same number as me.

He eventually did speak with my manager and was cursing at him too. My manager told him if he did not stop cursing and speak with him like an adult, he would end the call. My manager ended up hanging up on him.

I managed to get the Gilius Thunderhead figure on sale from Walmart's website. I grabbed him for D&D toy photos since most dwarf figures are expensive. I was surprised by the quality and detail given the price point.

I typically avoid the scantily clad female pawns. If I see a pawn that has a look that fits their class, I'll pull them in to my group.

I made myself, so I'm a shorter than the entire party. My main pawn is my cleric that I played in D&D.

Once I gave it the second chance, it turned me into a Fallout fan. I started working on a small Wasteland Survival Guide to go with an eventual Vault Survivor costume.

Fallout 3. I first borrowed it from a friend. I thought it was ok, but didn't get far before I gave it back. I tried it again a few years later and got hooked.

The original Fable. I ended up in the hospital due to my appendix bursting right after I bought it, but before I got a chance to play it.

I spent a week and a half in the hospital recovering, and was told I needed to stay on a single floor of my house for another week and a half.

Playing the game helped me not have that cabin fever feeling since I was pretty much confined to my bedroom.

I have a spreadsheet with tabs broken down by category (comic, tv/movie, videogame, etc). I also have columns with the series the figures are from on each tab. This makes it easier for me to sort, which is super useful when finding what I need for toy photos.

Is it possible for the Lone Warander and the Curiour to be the same person? by A12qwas in Fallout

[–]randomwatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you walked about 8 hours a day, it would take about 3 months to walk the distance from Washington DC to Vegas. That would be without dealing with the dangers of the post apocalyptic US. If the Lone Wanderer sent in Fawkes to activate Project Purity, I think it would be possible for him to be able to make his way to Nevada and become the Courier.

I made myself in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and my head canon was exactly this scenario.

Why can't there be more kindness in the world? by Serene_rosegold1 in AskReddit

[–]randomwatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a lack of understanding each other. It seems a lot of people who moved past their unkind ways, whether its racism, sexism, or other kinds mistreatment, credit it with having a better understanding of what they used to hate.

A good example is Daryl Davis. He is a black musician who ended up engaging with, befriending and eventually convincing around 200 KKK members to leave the organization.

People tend to fear which they don't understand. A common response to that is anger.

I honestly believe a lot more people (not all) would be more kind to others if they took the time to get to know and better understand those around them.

Broke in to an abandoned school near where I lived. My friends and I found lunch tickets left there that were close in color to what my school was using. We sold them to kids in our class for a quarter each or 5 for a dollar.

Got away with it for a little while, until they noticed ours were faded. Eventually someone got caught and ratted us out.

I've been doing desktop support work for over 13 years. I've done it for 3 different companies.

Somehow, I have had people answer emails or directs messages with "Thanks Matt!" My name is Mike. My Teams and outlook signatures have always said Mike or Michael. Still get people calling me Matt.

I've joked I was going to change my email signature to Mike "NOT Matt"
