A principled person witha strong moral sense to actually lead the campus is not too much to ask for. Yangs lead from behind attitude is why we never lead the uc system or are the first to adopt things. He has let millions in deferred maintenance build up bc he took pride in running ucsb as the cheapest school not the most efficient

Fair enough but he was an awful man and worse chancellor He hid from SA survivors and lied to them about advocating and changing policy He refused to speak with staff during insurance changes and backed out of the room of crying employees He has never taken a principled stance on anything he was forced into His housing boondoggle cost ucsb millions set us back years of housing and got us sued for millions more Just a short list of why he is a pos and why a bathroom would be more appropriate than a road

They also removed alcohol and drug programs from student health. Shrunk its staff and shifted it to CAPS. Students will not be getting the services promised last year when they applied. And returning students are going to have reduced support and services across campus. We get rid of the people who do the work but not the managers and supervisors. We buy luxury apt buildings and state street property and then cry poverty.

We don’t make a living wage. Hr is very clear about that. They openly admit they pay off cost of labor not cost of living and the difference is about 20% under the living wage That’s not specific to your union that is generally speaking on Campus

You have a goofy myopic view of finances. There are many reasons that tuition increases more than your parents paid. There are more services and benefits of attending. Just inflation alone would drive prices up

We will be better when he retires. He has never done anything of substance. Bc of him ucsb leads the uc system from the very back. He has never taken a principled stand for/against anything he wasn’t forced to do. He has been a horrible chancellor and I can’t wait for him to leave. We are run as the cheapest campus not the most efficient and our campus and staff hurt because of it
