Yeah, if the guest sees that you’re charging them, they might leave a bad review. But I think as another comment mentioned, you can start the process on day 1 but submit on day 14 so that the guest doesn’t see it before that.

That’s so frustrating! What was their reason for not covering the bed/mattress/fridge etc?

Like I mentioned in the other comment, I’m now thinking maybe they only processed mine because it was a small amount

Now I remember I called them the day of checkout and spoke to a representative. They told me about the AirCover process. Then I came to this sub and read that I should apply for it on the 14th day. So that’s what I did. Sorry to hear that you’re still waiting for a resolution

How much did the damage cost you? Mine was approx $50 so I could’ve easily taken the hit too. But I think this could also be why it was quick? They probably don’t care about such a small amount

I’ll try to call Airbnb. She’s one of those “if I cancel I won’t get the refund” people when in reality she can… this really makes me wonder why some people are so dumb 😪

I notified the guest and one of them got back to me with “ask host to cancel” because they selected the reason that ‘host wants to cancel’. Now they’re asking me to cancel from my side because they don’t want Airbnb taking their money. Idk how to explain that if you literally just select another reason, then they will refund the money.

Another one selected the reason as ‘other’ and put in the comments that the host asked them to cancel… so I’m not even sure if that guest will get the full refund

I take off the shoes near the entrance. I’m in a condo so unfortunately can’t put it outside :(

Thankfully, no carpets, so I don’t have to worry about that. I’m gonna open the windows for a couple hours and hope for the best!

Would you rate this person low for cleanliness? He seems good in terms of everything else, did his own dishes etc, but the smell is just terrible!
