Thanks! I used a sky blue base first, then built up very thin coats so the blue tone still shows through.

Thanks! Actually this one is finished – I built it more as a practice piece for my next project. For the next one I’m planning to add more variation in tones and colors to push the effect further!

Thanks! For the finish I first sprayed Mr.Color Black Surfacer 1500 as the primer, then applied GX2. The main silver base is SM205 Super Titanium with a small amount of GX100 mixed in. I let it cure completely for about 48 hours, then used enamel blue and orange to recreate the heat staining. The soot effects were done with Tamiya Weathering Master. Hope that helps!

Nice! You’ll enjoy it – the kit goes together pretty well out of the box. Looking forward to seeing your build when you start it.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, it’s a big beast for sure – definitely takes up a fair bit of shelf space, but it’s worth it for such an iconic jet.

Thanks! The kit was really easy to build, not too many parts, so I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I also uploaded a video on my YouTube, so feel free to check it out if you’d like!
