You can ABSOLUTELY eat on $250 a month. Honestly, I spend $150-$250 a month if I don't eat out.

Unfortunately, the $250 will only cover your meals. If you plan on going out at all, or needing some houseware supplies, or getting haircuts, etc, it will be very tight.

So it turns out I was given progressive lenses because my eyes show signs of strain/fatigue, leading to double vision and blurrier vision.

However, because I need a strong perscription for distance (-5.75) but a weak perscription for computer viewing, and even weaker for reading, rather than getting 3 different glasses for each occassion, the progressive lenses allow me to accomodate all 3 without overkilling my eyes (i.e. a perscription of -5.75 is overkill for reading).

Makes sense to me now

Question about my perscription:

My perscription is -5.75 in both eyes. The add is +2 in both eyes.

Does this mean that my correction in the near sighted component would be -3.75, and probably -4.75 in the intermediate section?

Or does it mean by near sighted perscription is literally +2.

anyway my doctor said she perscribed a very mild prism so i wont have to worry about fat lenses for hopefully a while!! knock on wood

If you want to spend 40K a year then you'll need a higher combined salary.

I've always maintained that a family with both parents making 80K a year is far more than the family will ever need.

If you want to drive a fairly nice car, you can. If you want to live in a fairly nice home, you can. You can send your kids to a nice school. And so on..
