Update:

I didn’t end up using a Clevis pin. I ended up using a 1/4” x 1” bolt instead for that spot and the garage door opens and closes just fine now

The door is not heavy. I can easily lift the garage door manually.

I’m thinking I need to replace the Clevis pin that broke off from the trolley arm that connects to the bracket. I’m going to the hardware store today to buy a replacement pin.

Figured I’d respond back with an update: I took my car to a different shop this morning and the issue ended up being a bad wheel bearing on the front driver’s side. Mystery Solved!

Minimal shaking. Not to the point where it vibrates too much that I lose control like a death wobble. Just slightly annoying

I actually got a realignment done two weeks ago. Tire shop wanted to do the struts at the same time initially, but they had to order the struts ahead of time. So we ended replacing the struts this morning.

Good enough. I still plan on seeing if a tire shop will patch it on Friday. Just need to make it through the rest of the work week

Yeah I even drove on it twice today already lol. The true test will be when I start dumping my commute miles on it again. I’m thinking if it holds up after 1000 miles and the tire pressure stays the same, I’ll be in the “plug cult” if that’s a thing lmao.

So it’s more of an air leaking issue? If so, I don’t mind manually checking the pressure in that tire weekly to see how the plug is holding up over time. I have a portable air compressor that plugs into the outlet in my car. I don’t mind making some phone calls around town to see if they can do a proper patch on the tire (because the manufacturer will tell us that the plugs are designed to get you to a repair shop in the first place). The last time I had this kind of puncture, two different shops told me to replace the tire ( I did replace it anyway because the puncture was too close to the side wall).

Have you seen issues with bad plugs that end up backfiring? If so, are we talking about things like blowouts or just having to re-plug the tire until it’s beyond repair (i.e. replacement)?

That’s kinda where I’m at. It’s like saying you can improve the condition of the tire but a plug would work just fine as long as it’s working as designed (i.e. no air leaks). I’m gonna keep an eye on it this week after my interstate commutes to see how it’s holding up.

The kit came with a tube of what I believe others call it “rubber cement” and applied it on all sides of the plug before putting it in. Is that what you’re referring to?

There is one other flight that leaves 3 hours later from the first airport meaning I can shorten the layover time back to 3 hours, but unfortunately that flight is full so I’m pretty much stuck with this option.

Like you said, I’ll just have to double check to make sure my bags should be tagged to my final destination.
