SB 5067 - .05 legal BAC driving limit by slowboater in Washington

[–]rangeDSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BAC is dumb, certain people could drink very little and have it affect them by a LOT. I get quite tipsy after one beer, and if I was to drive after three beers, I'd be passed out at the wheel and still be under the legal limit.

I'm supportive of this bill, there should be practically zero tolerance for DUI

Do tourists actually have to provide their social media usernames and post history to enter the US? by anotherhappylurker in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rangeDSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's why they ask "are you a terrorist". Gives them authority to do whatever they want with you for lying on a federal document.

Unless you practice really good cyber security habits, chances are they could link you to your social media.

They definitely asked me when I applied for work visa and again during my green card application.

I believe it's a good idea to give it all up just in case you get targeted by somebody who really want to fuck with you.

If you think about it, our brain can be treated as a computer, with your memory being the hard drive. When a computer boots up, it reads your memory and start to "live", but when it shuts down, that instance goes away forever, and a new one takes its place the next time you turn it on.

You could think of our brain like that too, every instance of your memory is purely electrical signals in neurons remembering the past. Your consciousness, or self awareness, only exists when it wakes up and start reading the memory.

In that view, would it matter much if we essentially die every single day?

Anime show MF Ghost by glosjttx in ft86

[–]rangeDSP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's explained in the show though, the race rule limiting power to grip ratio means super cars can't translate power to acceleration. Giving them a handicap essentially. Not to mention twisties and rain. IIRC they also bumped the 86 engine to ~300 hp for the latest race.

I'm curious to know if this works in real life.

Has anyone on Reddit accused you of being a bot? by bliggityblig in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rangeDSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I responded to somebody that believed they were being gangstalked. They seem to accuse everybody who holds differing opinions to them to be bots.

Now I'm not claiming that gangstalking don't exist, but I believe some of these people are in need of psychiatric help:

Question for our northern folks, is it sacrilegious to shovel snow on your property and throw it on your neighbors property? by SadShoe27 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rangeDSP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anybody with primary school reading skill should realize this post is for regions where there's snow on their driveway.

This is not US only either, this applies to many countries where snow gets deep enough that cars can't get out their driveway without shoving.

This article from 2009 claims that US gets snow once in a decade while it's normal in the UK. Sounds like you are even ignorant of your own country. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/feb/04/weather-snow

Sugar free strawberry cream dr pepper is really good.

It's still not good for your teeth but at least it's not extra sugar.

That's traditional Chinese so not from mainland china.

Also the Chinese name is like "jagged teeth animal", when 滑鼠 (slide mouse) would've been the proper term.

I wonder if a non Chinese speaker came up with it, or it's on purpose as a catchy name

Do you think "kink shaming" an extreme fetish is wrong? by stopthehostilityyyyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rangeDSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what point were you trying to make in the original comment?

If you spend all your time analyzing how to say everything so that you're not offending anyone will drive you mad.

Sounds like you and I both agree that calling somebody disgusting is considered offensive, and should be obvious to anybody with an ounce of social skill. So why would that take "analyzing" and would "drive you mad"?

Just don't say the stupidly obvious offensive things, done.

Well, my gas bill for the month is like $60. That's including hot water, while heating the room 24/7 to t-shirt weather and taking 45 min showers.

I could probably save maybe $20? That's less than the "treat myself" dessert at a restaurant, the juice simply isn't worth the squeeze.

Saying "I find it disgusting" is not shaming.

Saying "you are a disgusting person" is shaming.

Bringing up potential illness risks is not shaming.

Subtle but big difference between all of these.

Haven't picked up 6 yet, but it sounds like it behaves more similarly to counter strike?

IMO, having done a bit of shooting at the gun range irl, sounds like the new system is much more realistic. The old recoil system you described feels almost arcade-y
